The A10 Warthog was not used(so far) in the battle for Fallujah. The A10 though is my personal favorite.

We had the same experience at my work too. I streamed the video for some ex-servicemen and they absolutely loved it.

There is also a video of an Apache wasting some human scum in Islam-o-land.

Grab your buddies and check this one out

Unfortunately, no ragheads are killed in this one, but it demonstrates Ratheon technology...

Actually Texas Instruments Technology. The TI Defense group was bought out by Raytheon after the Javelin work was mostly complete. I knew several folks who worked on the design of the Javelin. Many of them also worked on the Bunker Buster laser guided bomb designed during the first Gulf War, as well as the modified version for carriage by the F-117. (TI also built the IR set for the F-117) I worked for TI during the buyout (and about 20 years before), but then RatCo laid me off.

You wouldn't happen to know where that test took place, would you?

This could become a great picture thread.

GREAT!
nice addition to the freerepublic.com "gun-porn" threads!

(I'm not joking! I love "appropriating" some of the great gun/aviation images
that get posted!)

Inside the AC-130

Load-em up, move-em out, raw hide!

"Hell's comin'."

From the audio of an interview with a US soldier (or Marine?) on the
eve of the present attack on Fallujah.

Now this...
is what we call revenge. We use model airplanes to find terrorists hiding in
Fallujah and call down strikes from the air, the sea, the land, with precision hits.

I remember NOVA (on the otherwise crappy PBS) doing a good show that included
a segment on this useful little craft.

I couldn't help but think about the future...inexpensive, numerous
little spider-like, heat-seeking robots that will go into terrorists' rat-nests.
With just a few loaded with a couple ounces of C4.

I'm a nice guy, but the thought of bin Laden or Al-Zarquwi feverishly blasting
away at a small army of spider-bots and then having one crawl up between his legs...
and an audio chip counting off a detonation sequence...
...PRICELESS...

No, I don't know where the test was done. I was turned on to the video a while back by a coworker who had a soft copy.

For this thread, I just did a google search and found it, like the other videos I have linked.

I sure wish I could work on something as sexy as high tech weapons.

I don't know about the sexy part (but yeh sort of) but I can tell you that it's extremely satisfying when you get to see your efforts bear fruit against the enemies of the United States. My latest efforts have been in simulation systems for training, both operational and maintenance. In the case of my biggest effort in that regard, I got to watch the trainees actually using the system, twice in fact. In the second instance the training wasn't simulated, as the system interfaces to real sensors as well and the training is then "live" not simulated. Some of the trainees tend to get a bit excited. :)

Javelin Anti-Tank Weapon

My favorite line from that was "Did you see how high the turrent went?" I had to go back and look at the "long" view again. It did indeed get up pretty high, and there wasn't much left of the hull either.

Yeah, I love that video. Those contractors in that video are having a blast. I do software QA work for telecoms and such. My biggest thrill is getting dial tone, but these guys get to blow up stuff.
