Iraqi Soldiers with the 303rd Iraqi National Guard Battalion, with support from the 45th Air Defense Artillery Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division, raid the Um Kabul mosque in Baghdad, Iraq, searching for weapons, Nov. 11, 2004. Iraqi soldiers arrested the mosque's imam, along with 15 other individuals, after 5 rocket propelled grenade (RPG) launchers, 10 RPG rounds, and 10 AK-47s were found in the mosque.

Maybe they only do it after getting intelligence of terrorist networking there. These sound like plain vanilla weapons given the territory.

We must be mis-translating the word "mosque" as "church." It must mean "mask."

Well certainly we would find it shocking to discover something like this in a church in Chicago, but I was under the impression that Iraq's interim government had quit trying to disarm the public of AK47s and the like, because crime was so rampant that they were needed for self defense.
