"Ok - so how many Texans are on this list, anyhow?" JimRob has asked us not to post that number.
It takes up too much bandwidth.

Date, time, place -- anybody know the particulars? Thanks.

"I just heard someone say that if you are in El Paso, you are closer to Los Angeles than you are to Houston..." Having made that trip recently, I can vouch for that!
Good to see ya, lady!
When you gonna change your screen name to TexasCowgirl?

That might be fun - but if the # would crash the bandwidth, wouldn't the # be a bit staggering for a facility?

Will it be illuminated by 1000 points of light?

I have to drive through this park and past this sign every day on my way to work.
That's why I'm always in a good mood when I arrive.
I'm really glad that Bill Clinton isn't from this area.

I just heard someone say that if you are in El Paso, you are closer to Los Angeles than you are to Houston........... that kind of blows your mind, doesn't it?
Almost, but not quite. Beaumont Texas is 835 Miles to El Paso and El Paso is 800 miles to Los Angeles. I've made the trip dozens of times across Texas. It's a L O N G event.

A monument unveiling would be an outside thing...
Houston's probably large enough to hold the Texas FReepers... (LOL)

I live a little southeast of Beaumont, and it is a days and days trip. Went from here to Santa Fe on church choir trip, stopped at other churches on the way there to spend night. It was REALLY long.

"what is it that smells so bad out there, anyhow?" Well, I was born and raised in Ft. Stockton, but I left many years ago so it wasn't me!
Actually, there's a giant feed lot just west of Ft. Stockton that smells pretty bad if the wind is blowing from them to you.

I used to drive from Houston to Tucson a lot - and the *smell* was just overpowering sometimes...pretty nasty! Worse than burnt fried onions, even!

"El Paso to La = 800 miles
El Paso to Houston = 745 miles " Hummm...maybe it's the miles and miles of nothing once you pass Kerrville that makes it seem so long.

That feed lot used to belong to an old pioneer family of Ft. Stockton.
When I lived there, several attempts were made to shut it down, but to no avail.
Too much money, too much longevity.
