30% is a significant burn area, particularly if the burns are full thickness. Add to that the fact that the burns are concentrated on the neck and head and this guy has a major ordeal ahead of him. Grafting onto the face and neck is no picnic and he may need years of post-operative treatment. There's also the possibility that he scorched his airway. Toss in the risk of infection and you can bet he won't be off to jail any time soon.
Burn ward nurses, btw, are angels on earth.

Yeah. I'm torn too. But it's fun to watch and guess how long a troll lasts before they're discharged of their static energy!
Here's the photo from yahoo. Sorry, it's not as dramatic as what you pictured. Seems he only burned his hand. It doesn't look like he really intended to do anything really dramatic. If he'd used some starter fluid, maybe he would have impressed more people. I don't get people who set themselves on fire. Burns are really painful. But considering who's doing it, I prefer this guy's methods for making a political statement to blowing himself up in the middle of a crowd.
