He makes a good point, I did not see a racial factor in it myself... I'm glad that our country has moved beyond that, but I see his point about the athletes being portrayed in such a light...
I thank God that owens did not make it to my Ravens. He doesn't deserve to even wear our uniform, or any NFL uniform for that matter.
Are we to take it dat black affletes be sexual predators? Or is it the desperate housewives? Or is it the folks at ABC?
I'm thinkin' it's the latter.
The "saliciousness" of the promo is one thing and is certainly a legitment area of concern, but to now bring a charge that it was tinged with a racist bent is pig piling.
I never said a thing about racism. I just think it is a pathetic way to push soft porn into families living rooms, and it needs to stop! Did you confuse my post with someone else's, perhaps?
I seen the skit, and I thought it was hilarious! I remember telling my brother it was the best intro I have ever seen MNF do, he agreed... BUT! It was NOT suitable to be on broadcast TV... I am over 30 years old... and NO children where present while we were watching the game... IF this into were on say, ESPN, I would not have as big of a problem with it, because ESPN is cable, although... football is family entertainment and they should take that into consideration...
This is why football has lost me. I love watching the game but the pre post and halftime nonsense is just too much. If the game isn't real good they don't have a chance of keeping me tuned in. I'm just not going to watch all that crap.
Hannity & Combs showed it near the end of tonight's episode. I don't remember what time it airs again. I think it's about to start in a few minutes. I think it was in the last ten minutes of the show.
Maybe Dungy has more class than the Marcus Washington types.
The infantile thinking of television executives is still astonishing. The segnent was in essence, soft porn. If MNF needs soft port to get people interested in football, I would rather see football cancelled, and just put on the soft porn instead. What a truly stupid idea it was.
I was simply saying that while the concern about the sexuall content of the promo during that type of program and at the hour it aired was a valid concern, Dungy's charge is meritless.
Sorry for the confusion.
I'm old enough to have grown up in an America where the black/white aspect of this would have been explosive. But no more. I was wondering if anyone was "old time" enough to complain about the interracial situation. IMHO the skit was a testament to how far we have come and how little racism remains in America.
soft port = soft porn (Bleah - even with spell check I miss one once in a while)
Tony Dungy shows me a lot of class. Just a cheap stunt to promote a "no talent" sudser. By the way, did she get
"humped"?? Anyone know if Al Michaels and John Madden knew about this ahead of time??
Racially offensive: maybe so, but minor-league compared to the insults and cartoons the liberal media have been tossing at Dr. Condi Rice. Wish Dungy and other respected black leaders and celebrities would also voice their outrage at this treatmnet of Dr. Rice by the bigots in the media.
>>>Isn't Terrell Owens the player who said a few days ago he would like to spank sideline reporter Pam Oliver?
Don't know if he said it or not, but it sounds like fun :)
It's disturbing for he could have done her, done the game and had three more white hoes later. What's this "nobility to the team" crap?
Try using topical salycilic acid treatments.
"Now lookee here I's got me a widde womyn"
Somebody please bring back some sanity to the airwaves, these crooked perverted socialist bastards at the networks are running amok.
Check, thanks.
