INDIANAPOLIS -- Indianapolis Colts coach Tony Dungy has joined those criticizing the intro to this week's "Monday Night Football" game on ABC, saying the steamy skit that featured an NFL player and an actress was racially offensive.I thought it hit at a lot of stereotypes toward athletes -- black athletes in particular," Dungy, who is black, said Wednesday.

I told Mom, at least Hollywood is choosing to show a heterosexual relationship for a change </.sarcasm>
Dungy Bump
Its a sign of progress a black man and a naked white woman onscreen didn't bring out mobs of lynchin' bigots down South. <sarcasm Its still in poor taste and was inappropriate for Family Hour when the kids were still up.
Isn't Terrell Owens the player who said a few days ago he would like to spank sideline reporter Pam Oliver?
Whatever happened to "the game" of football? One reason I don't watch as many games anymore is because of all this eye-grabbing garbage they spew.
No, you're thinking of Keyshawn Johnson and that was a couple weeks ago (in relation to a report she filed about him yelling at one of his coaches that he disputes).
I didn't see it until tonight when CNBC played it. Then, while flipping around the dial, I caught a bit of a CNN feature including radio talk show clips from Atlanta and DC and interviews with people on the street.
I saw it. Can't we have just SOME family friendly viewing out there? Sports used to be a safe place on the TV screen. Football, baseball, whatever. We really need to pounce on this. The "wardrobe malfunction" was no accident, either! So where do I go to complain, and then what do I do to make DAMN SURE I was heard?
Yo, Tony Dungy! Apparently all of you NFL types aren't on the same page about this.
Ping...whatcha say, Michael?
The only problem with it was there is that sexual content isn't appropriate for MNF. That is what the beer commericals are for.
The people who think this is OK to put on TV are the same ones who can't understand the whole "moral issue"/red state-blue state divide.
The "saliciousness" of the promo is one thing and is certainly a legitment area of concern, but to now bring a charge that it was tinged with a racist bent is pig piling.
It wasn't the illusion of nudity ain't that set folks off. Worse is regularly seen on TV. Rather, it was illusion of interracial sex. The piece featured a white woman removing her towel in front of a black man, who then says that the team will have to win without him. It's racism posing as upholding decency. All I can say is "just damn!"
Double-barrelled Mega-PING! to both lists! If you want on, FReepmail me!
Just more NFL crap. This is why I prefer baseball...
Family Unfriendly: Check
Poor Taste: Check
Racist?: (scratches head)
