If you think that comparing Evangelical Christians to the Taliban sounds extreme, you might just be a normal American. But if you think that the comparison is valid, you might just be a supporter of North Carolina Senator Julia Boseman. In fact, Boseman’s supporters have just launched a new website making that very comparison. Even worse, they go on to say the following of both Republicans and Christian Fundamentalists: “Hate is their currency. Ignorance is their sacrament. Racism is their communion.”
Julia Boseman’s attacks on Evangelical Christians began months ago in one of the most disgraceful episodes of political passive aggression in North Carolina history. Boseman’s campaign brought her sexual orientation into the race by saying, among other things, “Now is the time that we must elect openly (lesbian, etc.) members to the North Carolina State Senate to protect our rights.”

Thanks! This is exactly like the situation with the law in Australia now. A person can be "defamed" simply by a true description of his/her actions or beliefs. Absolutely insane. Obviously these people know that what they are doing is terribly wrong, in spite of all their protestations of "pride."

Let them say these types of things about any other group and they would be sued, but the Christians won't do anything as usual to protect their God given right.

I understand your concerns. I would no doubt be "shunned" by lots of people whose basic moral values I admire.
What is important here is not sectarian spirit (OUR church is the right church, and you're all going to hell!) but seeing the basic moral absolutes that are essentially the same in every religion. You know the idea "divide and conquer". I assert that it is time for all theists - regardless of sectarian differences - to put aside those differences and fight the evils of (a) Islamic jihadi terrorists, (b) Radical secularists who wish to eradicate every vestige of religious expression from our society, and (c) Homo-radicals (which are really part of (b).
If the Islamic terrorists are defeated, but the radical atheists and "gay" rights crowd and their supporters win, our country and indeed the world is just as ruined as if the Islamics win.
