Porn puts a hook in you: warning
New York Daily News ^ | 11/19/04 | AP

WASHINGTON - Porn is like heroin, researchers told Congress yesterday, asking for money to study "porn addiction" and launch a public health campaign about its dangers.

The Internet is the top source for porn that corrupts kids and hooks adults into addictions that threaten their jobs and families, anti-porn advocates said.

They called for billboards and bus ads warning people to avoid pornography, strip clubs and prostitutes.

"Researchers" begging political parasites to steal our money and give it to them.

I'm shocked.

What a bunch of grandstanding idiots. That won't accomplish anything, except it will make them feel good for putting up the billboards.

"Whadda ya mean man? I..I..can put down the porn anytime I want to. It has no control over me." (said with shaky hands)

I can see the PSA now. LOL

Does anyone here think for a hot minute that this bunch cares about anything other than rounding up some juicy grant boodle for themselves? I'm sure this lot would be requesting taxpayer dough to propagate porn to pre-schoolers if they thought they could sell the idea. Having said that it would be funny if the ambulance chasers decided to bring their guns to bear on porn-peddlers (just as soon as it it declard a "public health problem").

What a waste of my tax dollars. Imagine what Congress could accomplish if not bogged down with such dribble.

File away with Ben Affleck's and Matt Damon's request to the Massachusetts State Legislature to fund films of questionable content (porn) in Canada. (Occured in early August) Can you say payolla to the porn industry?

If they already know this, why do they have to do research ?

Internet pornography should be a serious concern and issue, but I think the above methods won't accomplish anything.

They have NO idea what a HEROIN addiction is like!

My son at 22 is a recovering heroin addict, one year clean, and I work in a support group for families of addiction. We've been through hell.

We get NO funding and have to raise what money we need through fundraisers and private donations.
We've been to Washington looking for funding too.

These people should be sent home without a dime.

There are many stories about pornography addiction too. Ted Bundy had a story.

Sex has never corrupted any one. If there are people who can't handle it responsibly, that's one thing. But to say it turns people into depraved, sex-addicted monsters is preposterous. By that logic, almost every man on earth, apart from those who live in monasteries, should be locked up simply for thinking about it.

Suuuuure he did. A psychopath looking for an alibi. Most men have seen a blue movie or Playboy a few times in their lives and we don't see them run around destroying themselves and their families. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying watching porn constantly is healthy for any one. But the occasional indulging in adult entertainment isn't a sign of guys with loose marbles in their heads.

What a surprise. Another flavor of the "Liberty is the Problem" crowd attempts to stick its "grubbing paw" into public trough.
