An unfortunate byproduct of George W. Bush's political strategy is that his success has depended on moving the base of the Republican Party down into a demographic that should by all rights be Democratic.
That's right, I'm talking about the moron vote.
This was best illustrated by that recent incident in Fallujah in which a cameraman caught on tape the shooting of an Iraqi prisoner by a U.S. Marine. The Marine apparently presumed the Iraqi was pretending to be dead for the purpose of preparing a later ambush. Now the Marine has been removed from duty and may be court-martialed.
Who do you blame for that sort of thing? If you're intelligent, you blame the commander in chief -- you know, that slick politician who when he first ran for the presidency promised he would never get U.S. soldiers into the type of nation- building boondoggle in which such incidents become inevitable.
But if you're a moron, you blame the cameraman. That's been the response among many Bush supporters on talk radio and in chat rooms all over the Internet. One such site was the Free Republic, which used to be a bastion of intelligent conservative comment until Bush dumbed down conservatism.
"He should be charged as a traitor -- the government should make an example of him. This has GOT to STOP," wrote one such blogger, with his thumb on the shift key in classic moron fashion.

MORON WRITER PAUL MULSHINE
Don't be too hard on Mr. Mulshine, it is not our fault we are dumbed down, but Bush's.
Moroooooon
It should be child's play to the geniuses on the Left, wouldn't you think?
LOL!
If this guy and his editor don't know how to spell moran, than they best be stop projecting they problems in wide circulation print.
And that folks, is where FR is at.
Last year Mulshine had a following on FR. No more purring over his great wit, and he gets nasty on the site.
You know, this means they're getting scared of us!
"a cameraman caught on tape the shooting of an Iraqi prisoner by a U.S. Marine."
Oh, moron, he wasn't a prisoner. He was a terrorist committing several War Crimes.
" The only way these big- spending Beltway bozos won re- election was to reiterate endlessly the message that the other side was even worse. That happened to be true, but as of Nov. 3 it stopped working as an excuse. "
One wonders what his political motivation is. Paul Mulshine, you obviously read Free Republic, as you are reporting our comments, so I only have one thing to say to you....YOU ARE A MORON!
PAUL MULSHINE of The Star-Ledger of Newark, N.J.: Question: What do you call someone who thinks George W. Bush is a conservative?
Answer: a liberal.
Bush has put the Republican Party in a bad position. Its future hinges on a campaign rooted in the notion that the American people are dumb enough to believe the author of the Iraq war should be re-elected on the basis of his foreign policy prowess. They may indeed be that dumb. But it's going to be close.

well at least he recognized that the "other side was even worse"...
I would hate to think where dear Paul's thumb usually resides, wouldn't you?
:)
This guy is a friggin jack-ass. He's totally clueless in gathering facts, and should enlist in the Marine Corps, put on a uniform and head out to the ME. Then he *might* have a clue what combat is.
LMAO! This 'journalist" thinks Bush has a wall of t.v. screens in the oval office and gives direct orders to all the troops?
If I was watching that soldier's actions on a tv screen, I would have said without hesitation (and without hesitation was the proper reaction of that soldier) shoot 'im!
These "faking dead" terrorists killed a soldier using this trick just hours earlier. Now He doesn't have to fake it.
Mr. Mulshine is faking having any sort of intelligence.
Then again, he's a democRAT. It doesn't take any intelligence to be one of those.
The real MORON is someone who fails to crasp the basic concept that a prisoner is somewhat who has either surrendered to you or has been forcebly put under your control. That person faking death was neither. If he was covering up a bomb or grenade, the entire squad could have been killed.
I wonder what he thinks about the suicidal maniacs at DU.
It is more than that....Mulshine thinks Bush is responsible for Dumbing us down. What a Dumb ----!
Who's the moron now? The Marines were securing the building. The Iraqi had not surrendered and been disarmed.
Sheesh, whatta maroon!
Sounds like he still is in crisis over the election.
Paul Mulshine desires to have his 15 minutes of fame, on Free Republic.
He's ugly enough. I bet he's gay too, and unlike Rather, he's out of the closet. A journalist should not have political bias however, therefore Paul Shoeshine will never be anything more than a tabloid writer. See B.S. will never again be considered more than a tabloid either. In fact, the National Inquirer has more credibility than See B.S, does at this point.
Maybe someday, Paul Shoeshine will rise up and become a notable Inquirer columnist! Wouldn't that make his boyfriend proud!
Who is this guy? Someone else worried about being ignored as a media influence?
I don't know about media influence but they're media flatulence.
This is what the left has been reduced to. Name-calling. They don't have anything else.
Fine. Let them howl. Let the spit dribble down their collective chin.
In the meantime, we will continue to roll up more election victories.
I sincerely hope the left is still in full drool-mode (as illustrated by this article), come election day, 2006.
He is one of the suicidal maniacs at DU, just look at that stunned, crazed look in his eyes in that pic! Does he look mentally balanced to you? LOL!
Haa!
*poot*
Tell me again who's the moron?
The Iraqie people cant handle Democracy ? tell me who's the brownshirt here ? were not just spreading Democracy were showing those who in some cases have known nothing but pain and suffering that freedom from oppression is a good thing and tyrrany is something that can be defeated but you must have the courage to do it !
Mulshine you truly are a moron Freedom is a God given right you are not God and you are certainly not much of a messanger.
So where should that leave us? most likely ignoring you into the realm of non-existance!
He's no "conservative". How dare he try associate himself with conservatives.
Lets call him "Randy" for now on. As in "Randy" from the "Trailer Park Boys", the assistant trailer park manager.
From Mulshine's piece, a blending of the philosophy of Pat Buchanan and the pseudo-wit of Maureen Dowd:
The myth among the morons is that the liberal media are somehow biased in their coverage of Iraq. Nonsense. Actually the liberals in the media have been extraordinarily sympathetic to the Bush view of the war. Why not? It's a liberal war -- or a neoconservative war if you want to use that term. When it comes to foreign policy, there's not much difference between the two philosophies. Nation-building. Spreading democracy to people who can't handle it. Spending billions to win "hearts and minds." That sort of thing.Has anyone in the media pointed out how much it's going to cost in American tax dollars to put Fallujah back together again now that we've used American tax dollars to disassemble it? If so, I bet that writer was a conservative, not a liberal. The true conservatives, as opposed to the "neo" variety, were skeptical about this war from the beginning.
You are correct! What do we have for Sittin Yonder, Don Pardo?
And yet demographics showed the only place Democrats gained votes from 2000 is with those without a high school education.
What's with the gay stuff? Knock it off. You're acting like a troll.
Just for the record..I only called Mulshine a "moron" ...because he started it..haha!

Mulshine on left, not sure who his partner is.

The issue here is not whether we broke a few rules, or took a few liberties with our posts; we did. But you can't hold a whole website responsible for the behavior of a few sick, perverted individuals. For if you do, then shouldn't we blame the whole Internet? And if the whole Internet is guilty, then isn't this an indictment of our communications institutions in general? I put it to you, Paul! Isn't this an indictment of our entire American society? Well, you can do what you want to us, but we're not going to sit here and listen to you bad-mouth the United States of America!
Gentlemen!
Hey, moron...Bush said that before 9/11 - you know, Clinton's legacy?
I, for one, do not blame a Marine for killing a terrorist in a war. On terrorism. I salute him. I do not blame the Commander in Chief, either. Kudos to him...one less terrorist in the world.
I guess that makes me a moron, huh? And over 60 million others as well?
I've been called worse by scum like you...and I just consider the source.
Moron.
Who took this guy off his Prozac?
Mulshine's psychiatrist should be nailed for malpractice.
yeah, sorry, I was responding in a equally childish democRAT-ish manner.--(But he does look gay)
In regards to his "conservative" opinion, does he realize that when you smash things, you need to rebuild them?
Just who does he suppose is going to supply all the material to do that? What contracting company will get the bid? France? LMAO! The money will come from Iraq's oil sales. Iraq will be rebuilt and resupplied by the country which had the determination to fight for it's freedom and democracy. It will provide economic benifits to both Iraq, it's people, and America, and it's people and companies with the ability to rebuilt a shiney new, fre Nation.
Mulshine thinks that Bush as CIC should be "blamed" for the incident with the possum-playing insurgent. Funny how he doesn't mention how Bush should be "blamed" for removing the deadly vise-grip of the Saddam Hussein family's regime or for ridding the Afghans of Taliban leadership.
Next week we find out...Mulshine is bipolar.
I wrote that moron Mulshine a note a few months ago. I got a note back essentially lecturing me about how stupid I was for disagreeing with his column. But the best part was that he sent me a blank email before his nasty note, so I wrote back to him to mock him for being too stupid to use email correctly. I also sent his response to me to his editor, and the editor apologized, saying that he's told Mulshine to only channel H.L. Mencken in his columns, and not in his emails to readers!
I wonder, Where was Shoeshine's voice when saddam was murdering 30,000 of his own people a month? Where is Shoeshine's voice about these 283 mass graves uncovered, and still over ONE MILLION Iraqi people missing? Where was his voice when Saddam was exterminating the Kurds?
Where was Amnesty, and all these other charities that keep asking for my money, yet silent while Saddam was murdering millions?
Shoeshine is nothing but a hypocrate. President Bush not only hit the heart of terrorism, he freed TWO nations from brutal dictatorships. He liberated over 50 million people and gave them HOPE for freedom.
Shoeshine thinks he's the only one entitled to freedom.
There are 50 million people who think Shoeshine is full of it. Sure, there are a few who think those 50 million should be their slaves and pay Jizya tax. Too bad.
Clearly Mulshine and Scott McConnell are the only "true conservatives" left. Wouldn't Ronald Reagan be proud to know his legacy is Mulshine calling the American people dumb!
[/s]
I've got $10 says Mulshine pulled the curtain closed and snickered to himself as he voted for Kerry.
Let's see, Americans come to the defense of an American soldier who is defending Americans against crazed, murderous, Islamic zombies, and it's Bush's fault. Plus we (Americans who want to see our enemies dead) are all morons. Mulshine is stupider than he looks.

MULESHINE - What a maroon!
