Bill’s library is launching pad for Hillary

Last week’s events in Little Rock had less to do with a library retrospective of the Bill Clinton years than a campaign launch for the prospective presidency of Hillary Clinton.
Doubt it? Then why was it Hillary, not Bill, who appeared on all the talk shows? It’s his library. But it’s her candidacy. So she did all the softball TV interviews, not him — reminding voters of her availability for 2008 while seeming to talk about the ’90s.
The timing is perfect: Democrats demoralized by John Kerry’s defeat get to behold hope for the future.
It also re-launches Hillary as a red state kind of girl. Needing to live down her recent New York pedigree, Mrs. Clinton gets to renew her identification with Arkansas so she can avoid the label of bi-coastal liberal.
And it gives Hillary a moment to bask in the reflected glory of her husband’s middle-of-the-road policies and presidential programs. To wash away the Kerry identification with gay marriage and opposition to the war in Iraq, Hillary can summon forth memories of welfare reform, balanced budgets, anti-crime initiatives and the Defense of Marriage Act her husband signed.
In short, the library gives Hillary the chance to moderate her image, relocate her venue and update her profile to position her for a White House.
Promoting a “nonpartisan” event, interviewers let Hillary get away with anything she wanted to say. For example, when she spoke of the transparency of the architecture of the library building as symbolic of the openness she deems admirable in government, Larry King didn’t ask why the names of the donors to the library remain cloaked (let alone why Hillary sued to keep the records of her health-care task force secret) if she is so committed to transparency.
Plus, Hillary now has all the staffing she needs for a White House run. When she sought the Senate seat, she used the White House staff. Now she has the library workers to prepare her background papers, develop policy initiatives and provide the staffing overhead it takes to run for president. Paid for with donations from Democratic Clinton allies, the library is really a support network for Hillary’s candidacy.
How typical of the Clintons to refuse to release the names of the library donors or the amount of their contributions. And how exemplary of their shady ethics are the known contributors: Denise Rich and others who benefited from Bill’s outrageous presidential pardons.
Give money directly to a president, and it’s a bribe. Contribute to a campaign, a party or a 527 committee, and the use of the cash is severely restricted by law. But donations to a presidential library can be used in any way the Library Board allows. And Bill can replace the board anytime he chooses. Sure, the library can’t spend money on overtly political purposes, but it can provide the staff and creature comforts the former president and his candidate/wife require.
Why did Bill Clinton build a library with hidden donations and use the opening ceremony to promote his wife’s candidacy for president three weeks after his party’s defeat? Because he could.

My guess is that, if the Dems will nominate Hillary for President it will be the Death knell of the Democrat Party.
Not only we will solidify our presence in the House and Senate, but we will win the Presidency as well, who ever, that candidate might be.
The Democrats still do not comprehend that the US is not ready for a female candidate for Presidency, not to mention Hillary.
She is such a polarizing figure, it will make John Kerry look like a Kennedy.
This ticket would alarm me: Hillary/Richardson.
Morris still hasn't gotten over the fact that the Hilderbeast was elected senator. He is living for a second chance to bring her down. No one will be more disappointed than Dick if she doesn't run.
I can't believe that Dick Morris is still alive, considering Ron Brown, Vince Foster, etc., etc.
Can Bill really do that?
I'll betchya Dick has notified the Clintoons that if he dies a violent death his attorney will give evidence of where all the bodies are buried. Since the toe-sucking incident the Clintoons have nothing further to reveal about Dick.
...be afraid...very afraid..This carpetbagging female from Arkansas in all probability with a the most real "body" trail of any American politician EVER somehow "got" elected to the senate...in all probability through the judicious application of information obtained from a variety of stolen FBI and IRS files...
Hillary is as renewed with her Arkansas life as I am renewed with hand milking 45 cows twice a day. NOT!!!!!
She is a drama queen and there are lots of stupid people out there who will vote for her no matter what.
We need to pray that the court actions pending with Peter Paul are enough to finally indict both of the Clintoons.
Actually, Planned unParenthoodlum, the NOW gang, the NEA, the AAUP, the ACLU, the Trial Lawyers Assn., more than half the illegal Hispanics and most Moslems here would all LOVE for Hitlery to be CIC. As to whether the USA is ready for a female president, well, my informal FR observations tell me that a lot of us here would go for Condi.... Hell'ry would fight to save 'Amerika' from the GOP candidate....whomever we have running will be cast by the Dims as 'bad as Bush was, or worse.' And we would proceed to destroy her, God help us!
No, "Kiss it Bill" only treats women like dogs and has them do it....Bill Clinton has set respect for women back into Mohammed's era.

Hmmm... Nominating Michael Dukakis was such a success, they decided to nominate his lieutenant governor.

What I am anticipating from Hillary in the near future:
-Hillary and Bill will buy a second home in Arkansas to get back in touch with their "Southern roots."
-Hillary will get a gun permit and go hunting.
-Hillary will get back in touch with the Bible. Expect to see her quoting from it on Meet the Press. Maybe she can even write a sequel to "It Takes a Village", applying Biblical principles to government policy.
-Hillary will be granting interviews to all sort of obscure sources (local radio, college newspapers), and testing conservative positions on foreign policy. Then, in 2008, when somebody asks why she has changed her mind, she can tell them to go pull a 2004 transcript from some AM radio station in Binghamton, and see that she's always been a conservative gal.
Hillary is a lot smarter than Kerry, and won't make his mistake of changing positions at the last minute. She will go ahead and change all her positions and principles right now.
I'm also wondering who the Clintons have ordained as a third party candidate (Ross Perot, Part II) to draw off votes on the right. We already know the Mark and Denise Rich have the checkbook to finance it.
Can anyone say "Mrs. President?" The Clintlers have had this one planned since the sixties. In football it's called the flea-flicker.
