So NOW They Key My Car? (A Night Out to See National Treasure)
11/29/04 | Cinnamon Girl

Posted on 11/29/2004 10:56:54 AM PST by Cinnamon Girl

Last night, I went to see "The Incredibles" in Century City, only, "The Incredibles" was sold out, so we saw "National Treasure" instead. It was REALLY GOOD, by the way. For anyone into American history, this was well done and interesting all the way through. Nick Cage looked good and the chick who played the main chick, Diane Kruger is VERY pretty.

Anyway, it turns out while my car was sitting in the Century City mall parking garage, some nut keyed one side of my car. Why? Could it be the "W '04" bumper sticker I still have on, since President Bush is the PRESIDENT and he WON?

Some of y'all might remember the post from August: "Dennis Prager Agrees to Put Bush/Cheney Sticker on His Lexus: LET'S ALL DO IT TODAY!!!"

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1194090/posts

It was on that day that I put the somewhat discreet "W" circle sticker on my car bumper. Up until last night, nothing had happened to my car.

I still see a LOT of Kerry/Edwards stickers on peoples cars and the "W" with the red line through it. Is anyone else still experiencing post-election liberal rage?

You don't know what you're talking about, sound like a liberal appeaser enabler. My car was keyed right across the "W 04" sticker (no one knows what that means?) AFTER the election. Been to DU lately? Of course, they are enraged they lost the election... after all, Diebold and Rove stole it from the liberal losers. Liberals have no morals or respect for private property. They're all hippie/radical wanna' be's.

Now that's annoying. Just when it seemed that things were settling down, too. I guess I'll have to keep mine on for a couple more weeks....

Since you were kind enough to share, here are my anecdotes:

Wednesday after the election, the (C)A.N.S.W.E.R. gang had a couple of dozen Moonbats at the corner of Hollywood and Highland, and some maroon noticed my oval while I was stuck in traffic north of the light. Got lots of "peace and love", but I was so tickled by the election results I just waved and smiled.

Since then, only two "road rage" type of incidents, but I can't tell if it's because of the oval, the NRA sticker, or the gi-normous new SUV, or my driving.

And yes, National Treasure was a hoot!

That pic represents Clinton country to me... and all of his immoral dreg supporters.

Bush has way too much class... and morals.

Keying could only help that car.

..no appeaser enabler here. I was simply saying you don't need to have a sticker on your car to get "keyed". I watched a kid (teenager) key a custom car at a cruise night once...he had no reason to give when he was immediately surrounded shortly afterward. NO REASON.. it happens
So,to say I don't know what I'm talking about...in the posters case "cinni" she don't know WHO did it...

You don't need to instruct her to "calm down". She sounded measured and calm already.

BTW, it is obvious why her car was keyed and it was the bumper sticker, whether you wish to acknowledge it or not.

Perhaps you need to "get a grip" before telling others what and why.

Someone was in the process of "keying off" my NRA sticker in a Madison,WI restaurant parking lot, when I came out last spring. I caught the little puke.

I was having a cup of coffee today reading the newspaper and waiting for my wife to finish her aerobics class. There was an obnoxious liberal in the cafe pontificating on the evils of the GOP and Bush. I live in the SF bay area so liberals predominate. Most of the patrons were nodding in agreement to what this idiot said. I could not wait to get out of there. This is what a conservative has to live with when you reside in an ultra liberal area. I am envious of you freepers who live in a conservative part of the country.

I had no bumper stickers and so I didn't have this particular problem. (My car was totaled by an 18-wheeler, with me in it. It's a long story, but everything's OK now.)

There's NO excuse for damaging someone's property like this.

And conversely, I admire your restraint as the libs pontificate their hate. I honestly don't think I could. I have, to date, seen three Kerry/Edwards stickers and they were on vehicles with out-of-town plates - just passin' through. The only vandalism problem I've ever had is folks stealing my front license plate. If they'd just ask, I'd have my husband make them one too.

I think my French teacher in high school (graduated in 1976) still has her "Don't Blame me, I voted for McGovern" bumper sticker still on her Citroen.

World's ugliest car..... next to the Yugo.

Hi Cinnamon Girl,

I have several stickers on the back of my truck. One that has a Roman Dirge cartoon monkey that says: I like monkeys--just not this one (with an arrow pointing to the monkey). Several mountain biking/cycling stickers, the Misfits Skull, the Nine inch Nails Logo and one of those cut-out templates of a Rottweiler with "Got rottie?" underneath.

In October, I stuck one of those small oval W '04 stickers on the back, and after a few days, I noticed that there was some kind of weird "mass" drying on the "Got Rottie" sticker.

By weird mass, I mean some joker had walked past my car, hawked a clam on the back window. THEN, this brain trust had proceeded to 'smear' said clam in a mobeus strip pattern all over the Got Rottie? sticker. I can even take a photo of the streak marks (I never wash my car, I'm lazy).

Nothing like that has happened since. NOW, bear with me... I don't think I happened across a person who has a particular aversion to my dog breed of choice. No, I think some idiot with bad aim was attempting to spit on my dubya sticker and missed. The figure-eight streak mark is proof that it was spit and not a bird bomb. Someone had put a little elbow grease into it.

I finally took my Dubya sticker off (not wanting to incur any more liberal wrath to my truck). Cowardly, maybe, but I just don't want something worse to happen. The only sore loser rage I've encountered were a few college age punks driving aggressively on the highway -- tailgaiting, mouthing things, and then driving past me (with their Kerry Edwards stickers on their cars). I've got a toddler, and I never travel with the dog--so I don't want trouble.

ps. NICE Jason Isaac pics. He's the only reason I paid to watch Event Horizon!

lots of fun historical references AND a refreshing respect for the founding fathers.

So true! Remember when Nick Cage and the girl are in Independence Hall and he says "wow, do you realize this document hasn't been here since the founders signed it?"

I thought Citroen was a lemony drink.

Oh my gosh! Did we wave to each other on Highland the week of the election, after he won? Do you drive an SUV? I drive a small gold one.
