Good Morning Billie , Mayor, All.
What a beautiful thread!
You can tell it's getting cold here in southern Jersey, the squirrels are digging up their buried nuts! Just watch a bunch of them outside my kitchen window.
Back to my coffee.

Wow Billie.. is that beautiful... your HTML skills & creativty are surely a joy to experience.
I am hoping that eventually my Fine Mind Threads will have this 'look" ... I am trying to learn a new HTML skill for each thread.
Thank you for sharing so freely your time & talents with us.

Hi, Maggie - isn't that fireplace gorgeous?! It's very cold here today, too, and there is nothing like sitting in front of a warm fire when it's cold outside. :)

Just saying Hi. The temperature in northern Colorado is -9°, according to NOAA. Oh my goodness! Hello! Haven't seen you in such a long, long time! Play us a Christmas tune on your sax? :)

What a wonderful post, Pippin! I wasn't around much this weekend either, so I missed your post on the Thanksgiving thread. Thanks for reposting it here! Hugs to the Pipster!

But I'll always remember how mom would get up in the wee hours of the morning to start the cooking for when all the family would arrive later in the day. Good morning, Mo! My mom, too, and what a house full we had. The smell of that turkey roasting in the oven.....yummmmm!

Christmas in Australia is quite different, weather wise; although we still celebrate in the traditional way. We are now officially in summer; today we reached upwards of 100 degrees, the gardenias are blooming (when I smell them I know Christmas is just around the corner)and I am getting ready to get the Chrissie decorations up at the weekend. Good morning, oz - enjoyed your post - I didn't realize the seasons were so different in Australia and America! Interesting! Hard to imagine Christmas in the summer. :)

Hi, Gail - wish Roscoe liked to ride in the car, but he is so antsy and nervous once we get started, all he does is whine and tremble. He just likes to be HOME!

Good Morning all. Waking up to new fallen snow on Christmas morning and a white Christmas is always special. It has happened a few times here north of the border. Hi there, xp! It's so beautiful with snow on the trees, and covering the ground, but then it melts. :)

Good morning, sweet Texas girlfriend. :) I agree - Christmas stories are the best kind. Something very special about this time of the year and how we get sentimental and (mostly)filled with good will towards all. :)

Hi, shezza - thank you so much for your compliments on the post - I actually haven't done any "Christmas'ing" at home yet - except for putting the Christmas wreath on the front door.

I have a story of Christmas for you!
I have lots of Christmas memories from my childhood (okay, so I ain't quite over THAT yet!) LOL!
I'll be 48 on Dec. 26th but I'm feeling soooo young! (Okay, 48 ain't exactly ancient ;o))
I used to enjoy the time when we all would get (pile) in the car and go to my grandma's home in Northern Saskatchewan (wanna see snow, OZ?) there were tuns of it!
My brother and sisters would go toboganing and ride the ski doo's in the field behind the house (in summer it was the cow pasture) I would go too as long as one of my uncles or aunts come along.
I remember my uncles would go out to get a Christmas tree from another part of the property and mount it on an old wagon wheel (oddly enough the type of wagon the wheel came from was called a "democrat" in the 1890's and early 1900's)
They would bring it into the house and we'd all decorate it.
On Christmas Eve we would open our presents Santa brought and we'd go afterwards to mid-night Mass and sleep in Christmas, at least until the sausages and pancakes woke up with thier really tempting aroma!
It was fun!

A truly beautiful way to slip into the hoiday spirit ... )
Thank you, BillieBlue.
I was a pilgrim for Thanksgiving as I journeyed over hill and dale and made my way through the desert to be with family for a wonderful Thanksgiving ... returned home last night to find the cabin cold and the Mac intact, both waiting to be warmed up ... sure was good to be home again.
Sure is good to be here at the Finest again.
