Police: Woman Charged With Attempted Murder After Hitting Teens

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. -- A St Augustine woman is charged with attempted murder after she allegedly ran down two brothers and tried to hit a third brother after a seemingly harmless incident with a golf ball Sunday afternoon.
According to the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office, Isiah Grayer, 14, and 16-year-old twins Justin and Jamel Marshman, were bouncing a golf ball in a parking lot on State Road 16 about 2:45 p.m. when it got away from them and hit an SUV owned by Kathy Allen, 47.
According to authorities, there were no damage to the Chevrolet Blazer, but the brothers went over to apologize, then turned to walk away.
According to witnesses, Allen started driving to the other side of the parking lot and accelerated towards the boys, driving over several curbs and through the landscaping to hit two of the boys and knocked down a light pole. Police said she then turned her SUV towards the third teenager, but the vehicle got stuck in drainage ditch and the third boy was able to run away.
Grayer was flown to Shands-Jacksonville Medical Center, where he was reported in critical condition with head injuries. Justin Marshman is at Flagler Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Whitley was not injured.
Along with witness statements, investigators found acceleration marks on the road.
Allen was questioned, then arrested and charged with attempted murder. She'll appear before a St. Johns County judge Monday morning.
I thought it was PUSS (post-unelected stress syndrome)?...I mean, with a puss like that...(giggle giggle).
What drives me crazy: tailgaters. We live in tiny, rural Gettysburg, and when I drive through the battlefield (posted speeds 15 to 25 mph) it makes me crazy when somebody sits on my bumper and wants me to speed.
More than once I've flipped tailgaters off -- my husband always tells me DON'T, they could follow me. After reading this article, I think I'll keep my middle finger inside my hand.
SUVs seem to be like the Koran. When in the wrong hands, it can lead to much death and destruction. And like the Koran, it seems to be in the "wrong hands" far too often.
How'd the SUV get "stuck in a drainage ditch"? It's an SUV.
This woman must have just found out that Jesse Jackson wasn't coming to Florida to demand a recount.

When people tailgate me I keep going the speed limit with a smile on my face. They are probably some liberal with an obvious, I only care about me now mentality. It gives me great satisfaction because they are stuck going the speed limit behind me forced to read my BUSH 04 sticker on the back of my rear window over and over and over and over and over again! :)
Now I am an old woman and I just pull over. Too many crazy people and it is not worth fighting with them.
She's not local, I know all the locals, LOL. Funny thing, I had a female fruitcake try to back over Me last week, at Walmart, but the SUV was a different color. She was shrieking and cackling the whole time. PEST has got to be the reason. One Kid was hurt pretty bad, may not make it.

Hmm . . . it seems that the kids are black. I wonder if that had anything to do with her nuttiness.
9 times out of 10, the tailgater is some idiot in a SUV or pickup truck. More often than not, the tailgating pickup truck has a "Live Better, Work Union" bumpersticker with a driver that looks like he's on meth.

Not true. I have an SUV, I go the speed limit or 5 miles over, and I am tailgated every time I leave my house. The people who tailgate me are young people in rotten old cars, middle aged women on cell phones in SUVs, guys in pickups trucks, and monster delivery trucks.

I've been tailgated by SUVs on the 101 Freeway at 3am when all the other lanes are open. When I move over a lane, they actually SLOW down.
Most freeway accidents are from rear enders...

It's very sad we have to cater to these driving idiots on the road. When they cut off the person in the other lane to pass, I slow down so they don't have to go so fast and further endanger another vehicle on the road with the possibility of rear-ending them. UGH!
I drive a minivan which is good so I don't have to feel as if I'm about to be driven over.
I was the last car in line and knew I would be hit -- which I was, 30 seconds later, by a family from Florida in one of those station wagons with fake wood paneling on the side.
Fortunately, I swung my car onto the road shoulder and avoided smashing into the car in front of me.
I pull over and let tail-gaters pass also. You win nothing by competing with them.
I like the bumper sticker on the rear bumper that says...."If you can read this, you are too damn close".
