There was NO Al Qaeda group before 9/11! (Grab Bucket to Hurl In Alert)

Posted on 12/07/2004 2:35:25 PM PST by bigjoesaddle

Requires Realplayer.

It just may be the greatest documentary ever made! History will have to judge.

If you NEVER watch anything else about 9-11 and the Iraq war, you have to see this ... (only thing is it'll take about and hour just to watch the first part). It's a documentary that was broadcast all over Europe by the BBC on 11-03-04 about Bush and exactly how he and Tony Blair (England's Prime Minister) have created the illusion of a large, organized terrorist group. Tho NOW there is, but unbelievably, there was NO Al Qaeda group before 9/11!! Tho a leader aligned with him was responsible for 9-11, Bin Laden had no army of terrorists! The term "Al Qaeda" was created by the Bush people and now Bin Laden and MANY others are building forces because of what Bush (and Tony Blair) have done and ARE doing! This is a far better expose' of all this than Michael Moore's Farenheit 9-11. This is actually only the first part of a series that was shown. My hat is off to the BBC who had the courage, professionalism and decency to expose this whole thing and to litterally blow the lid off! WOW!

Sent to me by my Liberal friend. How come COnservatives believing in Arkancide and other further Right ideas are crazy, and Democrats that believe this stuff are not? My friend is a prominant Dem who has been campaign manager for many Dems for local state house elections. He is not living in a wood shack like the unibomber; a fairly normal guy.

I wanna grab him and shake some sense into him, but hes over 50 years old and there is no changing him. All you can do is shake your head and, at times, laugh about it.

I wonder what the Clintonistas would say to that - there was no AQ - all those people who testified before the 9/11 Commission that they tried to warn the Bush administration in January 2001.

Do they not realize how easy this is to debunk?

Oh, and the mainstream press wrote dozens of articles in the 90's about the world's alarm at the growing relationship between Al Qaeda and Iraq. Ask your friend how he can explain that.

That's odd, even Bill Clinton acknowledged the existence of Al Qaeda - not that he did anything about it, but he sure knew about them.

It's easy if you're rational.

Leader of what? I mean, since there was no Al Qaeda?

Oh, but Bubba did plenty. All of which ensured that not one hair on UBL's sick head was harmed.

Unbelievably is right. I trust CBS more than the BBC, frankly.

NYPD in order to get increased staffing and funding.

Go hunt around DU and you'll find this, or similar.

Sigh. As with every stupidity, there's a kernel of truth to the idiotic fantasy.

Osama bin Laden existed, and he ran (or at least was the sugar daddy for) a terror group. I'm not sure he ever actually called it "Al Qaeda" however; this was a term, as far as I can tell, that was given to the group by US law enforcement (in particular when they were prosecuting the '93 WTC conspiracy). It is on this thin, fragile peg which rest all these "Al Qaeda didn't exist!" theories.

Sometimes I have a suspicion that Richard Clarke invented the term "Al Qaeda, or was instrumental in popularizing it. This would also explain his claim that Condy "hadn't heard of Al Qaeda"... I suspect that maybe that's correct; perhaps she'd heard of OBL's group (which, in 1998 or so, had a name such as World Islamic Front For International Jihad or somesuch), but not "Al Qaeda" per se..

People who are taken in by a story like this are really just simple-minded and ought to be pitied.

I'll take your word for it :) I'd need a new pair of hip waders first.

"Ask your friend how he can explain that."

Do not the power and foresight of Karl Rove continue to amaze. I mean, how far ahead of the curve can you get?

The crack pipe was glowing bright red when this revelation crept into their muddled consciousness.

If your friend isn't totally out to lunch, I have a book recommendation for him: Losing Bin Laden, by Richard Miniter.
