A convicted sex offender broke into a San Francisco home in the Ingleside district and raped a 9-year-old girl in her bedroom in an hourlong attack that ended when the girl's mother walked into the room, San Francisco police said.
The man, police say, fled on foot and was chased by the girl's father, who at one point struck him with a 2-by-4. The man continued fleeing through several backyards and was captured by police and identified as Roberto Gamero, 36, of San Francisco, police said.
"It's a parent's worst nightmare,'' said San Francisco police Deputy Chief Morris Tabak of Sunday's attack. "It's pretty horrific. All of us who are parents, it sends chills up your spine.''
Gamero, a prior sex offender who was on probation for an earlier domestic violence case in San Mateo County, . . .

Putting people in cages for longer than is needed to decide what to do with them is not good for the rest of us, either. If we can't let them mingle with the public, the only answer is to kill them. Nobody gets any "better" in prison.

I feel that way too.Only problem is,the perv would probably enjoy being gang-raped,to the point of changing his sex,like that sicko Richard Allen Speck (the guy who murdered the nurses in Chicago in the 60s).There are some truly deranged people in this world-unfortunately for our kids.All you can do is educate them,make them tough and hope for the best.If I had little ones nowadays, they'd be taught to defend themselves any way they could,and to be wary of anyone.Sad to say but that's what it takes in today's world.
As I understand it, probation means he never served jail time to begin with. If someone is on parole, they have been in jail.

I have no experience with Ridgebacks but I once owned a Rottweiler stud with a championship pedigree, descended from dogs shown on the cover of Dog World magazine and The Book of the Rottweiler. I used to jokingly call him "Rotten Willie" but he was gentle as a lamb with children. One look at "Rotten Willie" was enough to make the average adult male become humble in a hurry.
It is a parents worst nightmare. That's why I have a 45 pound Rhodesian Ridgeback, soon to be an 80 pound Rhodesian Ridgeback that sleeps in my daughters room.
You'll be lucky if that Ridgeback only tops off at 80 pounds. The two my dog plays with both top 100 pounds, without an ounce of fat. My 70-pound Swiss Mountain Dog/Doberman mix holds her own though.

What do you load it with? I recommend CCI stinger hollow points, they do amazing damage at close range for such a small caliber. I think I would rather be shot with a .38.
(Personally, I see no problem with a bullet between the eyes for something like this, but that's a different story.)

On December 1, 2003, although her body had yet been found, Alfonso Rodriguz Jr, a registered sex offender from Minnesota who had recently completed a 23-year prison term, was charged with abducting Dru Sjodin. After Dru's body was discovered April 17, 2004 near where Rodriquz lived, a federal grand jury charged Rodriguez with kidnapping and murder.
