Very true. However, I'd give most FReepers the benefit of the doubt when it comes to identifiying anti-semitism and I think there are very few here that would let it go unchecked (including myself). While I can't provide specific examples I have on a number of occasions, upon noticing that a response post has been scrubbed, wondering why it was removed.

Just remarking about how one has to walk a tight rope, it seems, when attempting to criticize Israel. What are you talking about? I criticize Israel all the time and never a problem.
I suspect it's how you do it.

Yeah, whatever. We do think for ourselves. Sometimes others p*ss us off. Except for me. I never p*ss anyone off. I'm a paragon of virtue and all that rot.
What it basically comes down to is there is a tactful way to disagree. Throwing a tantrum is not it and is generally not acceptable. I know it is in public schools and other places where your self-esteem is the only thing that counts, but that's not the real world. Grow up.
Or to put it in the simplest terms moron: as Thumper's father told him... "If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all."

I have seen valid disagreements degenerate into name-calling between individual posters on the same thread. I just don't see the level that you implied in your original post.
and screw the newbies, if they don't show the proper respect.
Although, I probably broke a rule when I posted my first article after three days of membership.
I was allowed to remain because I already knew the proper etiquette.
Rants from newbies are not tolerated, especially if they run counter to the stated purpose of FreeRepublic.
