Free Republic is an LLC. The ball is priced to (hopefully) just break even. It is being financed through admission sales only. Donations are being accepted to help pay the admission costs of honored guests such as wounded members of our armed forces recuperating at Walter Reed and Bethesda.
Unlike other inaugural balls, we have no corporate sponsors defraying costs.

Who runs Free Republic? Free Republic, LLC is a non-commercial, limited liability company founded and operated by Jim Robinson, a private citizen of Fresno California. Free Republic is not a for profit commercial enterprise in the sense of a traditional business selling a product or service at a profit for its shareholders. We sell no product or service. We have no clients, customers or employees. We do not accept paid advertising. Free Republic is not affiliated with any political party, group, news source, government agency or anyone else. Free Republic is not a business, we are a political discussion forum supported by donations from our readers and participants. When and if our readers decide we are no longer needed or viable, we will close down shop and go away. I'm just asking since this looks like a republican event.

Any chance of getting Dan Rather there in a dunking booth? My husband and I are still thinking about coming and that just might be the ticket to getting us there! My husband has a mean fast ball. heheheh
To: jennyjenny
LOL! Folks would forget about dancing and spend all night in line for the chance at that.
