SCOTTSDALE - The city of Phoenix's longtime finance director died in Scottsdale after falling or jumping from a moving car.
Witnesses told police that Kevin Keogh, 55, climbed onto the top of his moving Mercedes-Benz, stretched out his arms and then jumped or fell from the car on Wednesday.
The car continued driverless until it crashed into another car. No one else was injured.
Investigators don't yet know whether the death was intentional, but the cruise control was apparently set at 50 mph. The medical examiner will determine if drugs or alcohol were involved.
City officials and Keogh's widow said they believe he was suffering from brain damage caused by a rare parasite that he picked up while traveling in Mexico a few years ago. The damage impairs a person's social decision-making abilities.

parasite or drugs gotten in Mexico.
A beamer caught the evil disease from an SUV.
Headline: BMW kills man. Of course, it couldn't just be that the recently departed had Peter Pan syndrome, right? Sposed to hit right in that age group in men. Nah. The Beamer Made Him Do It. The beamer kept repeating: You are driving a Pinto. You are driving a Pinto.... Save the MSM. You are driving a Pinto...
That's right out of the X-Files!!!!
How many times do people have to be reminded, never, NEVER pickup hitch hikers?!
Agavie worm? I thought the alcohol in the bottle was supposed to kill them!
"The damage impairs a person's social decision-making abilities."
gee.. no kidding. I can see it now:
I wonder if I should jump from a car moving at 50 miles an hour today?
The scene of the accident was on my route home, it was all blocked off, bizzare stuff.
I knew there was a reason I don't eat pork.
Is that what happened to the Democrats?
"Muttly have it on good authority that a case of the heebie-jeebies can prevent the development of the screaming mimis...which require professional treatment."
How about the "Creepy Crawlies?" Or is that just flat-out redundant in this situation? LOL!
DON"T EAT THE WORM!
maybe he was just going to smoke outside so as to not
stink up the car...
Everyone knows that a case of the Creepy Crawlies can be cured by doing the Hokey Pokey.
Science is a wonderful thing.
WHY BLAME THE PARASITE HE'D BEEN CARRYING AROUND FOR A COUPLE OF YEARS. WHAT DRUG DID THE DOCTOR PRESCRIBE FOR THIS MAN IN THE LAST COUPLE OF WEEKS OR MONTHS???? THIS OUT OF CHARACTER BEHAVIOR SOUNDS LIKE A DRUG-INDUCED PSYCHOSIS -- OF COURSE THE DOCTOR WOULD BLAME THE WORM WHILE LETTING HIMSELF OFF THE HOOK. LET'S HOPE THE CORONER'S DO THEIR JOB AND FIND OUT WHAT THIS MAN HAD IN HIS SYSTEM -- MY BET IS THE WORM DIDN'T DO THIS ...
I agree with you there was definitely something wrong with this man.
This man ended his life (for any number of reasons or a combination thereof) . I'll let the experts decide.
