Heh.. Plano is perfectly safe. Although the kids have a lot of drug problems. The actual crime rate, jeez.. I can listen to Richardson and Dallas PD on my scanner and get much more excitement than Plano.
The drug problem among teens here is quite awful, and needs to be dealt with by means of capital punishment. Only way to stop these rich kids from trying it.
But otherwise, it's overall a great place to live in the DFW area. Probably the best.
also a large nativiy in our town square with Christmas carols playin over loudspeakers!
I loved TX but too darn many people now. Rooftops as far as the eye can see in Dallas area. Every bit of green space gone. Sad.
I REALLY REALLY miss the shopping!!! (REALLY!)
They tried this in Minnesota a few years back. It didn't last long. This kind of insanity from the left only arouses sane people against it. Let the school district try to levy some tax money after this!
Change the word "schooling" to "babysitting," and it all becomes clear.
... as a room mom we are banned from using the word "Christmas" and may not provide any snacks, crafts or decorations with a Christmas theme or motif. We have resorted to a snow theme with snowmen and snowflakes for our politically correct "winter" party next week.
This fight will never end. Last year the PISD lost it's legal battle. One year later they seem to have forgotten.
The good people in Plano ought to be PISD!
Ridiculous! Someone needs to make a Jesus snowman right in front of that school.
Leave a few flyers on strategic copiers with all the "ahem" special symbols endorsing the idea.
That should have the mongrels in charge chasing their tails.
Some good news? Christmas card companies are saying they are facing a shortage due to an increased demand this year.

Wait a minute...isn't WHITE a RASCIST color???!!! I would have thought "plates of color" would be politically correct???!!!
But wasn't the orginal complaint that the school district prohibited colored plates, napkins, and cake icing in red or green at the "winter holiday part" -- not that they banned colored clothes?
I apologize that I missed your posting over the Christmas break and am so late in replying.
Yes, you are correct, and below I am including segments of 2 e-mail exchanges I had with a room mother at one of the PISD elementary schools. This first one is from me to the room mother.
At 8:30 PM Eastern time O'Reilly on the Fox News Channel had about a 5 min segment on PISD and the Christmas celebration policies. That show is repeated here at 11 PM, so at 10:30 PM it should be on in Dallas.Gregg Knight from KLIF radio (same station Darrel Ankarlo is on) was the guest and he explained that each school in the district chose their own policy. He singled out Thomas Elementary as the biggest offender.
Try to catch the show if you are around.
And her reply the next morning:
We watched this last night and I am glad the radio host told it like it is. I should have called or emailed OReilly yesterday and maybe I could have been a call-in on the show but at least the radio host told him about the winter party where we cannot have anything related to Christmas. I am off to the winter party this morninglast day of school today . Bye!
