The EU has offered its support for the Secretary General of the United Nations, Kofi Annan, amid allegations of misuse of UN funds... "Kofi Annan can be sure of the EUs support for him and the for the United Nations", President of European Commission Jose Manuel Durao Barroso said after the meeting... Mr Annan said that there would be a full investigation into the alleged appropriation of UN funds under the "oil for food programme" in Iraq.

Wow, the EU always stands up for honesty and integrity... What a noble endeavor they have there.

Well, of course, the criminals are rallying 'round! lol It is in their interest to protect the organization that has allowed them to steal millions!
I think that even the EU (sans france) is saying this to buy a little time to figure out how to jettison Kofi and his little crime syndicate.
