Please spare me the lectures, but I am thinking about taking my wife (who is a fan) to their concert next month in Columbia, SC, and want to know whether I can ethically support them or not. I do not willingly give my $$$ to libs if I can help it. Thanks in advance.
Honey, you'd better get yourself to a doctor.
Alison Krauss & Union Station will be the Sunday afternoon headliner at Merlefest 2005, I think on May 1st. If you're within a 500-mile radius of western NC, go! Ricky Skaggs and Jerry Douglas among many others will also perform, including one of my all-time favorite groups, the Del McCoury Band. You'll want to pass on Tim O'Brien, though....
It matters to me.
Just Damm.
Here I'm stuck in Central Texas.
Cant think of anything I would rather do than attend the concert.
Del McCoury stomps......
Perhaps it's time to get your ears cleaned out
Then listen to "Down to the River to Pray" and report back......lol
allison who?
Being a Democrat doesn't necessarily make one a liberal, as evidenced by Senator Zell Miller (D-GA).
That said, for my two cents' worth, Allison Kraus is a superb singer. I thoroughly enjoyed her duet with Brad Paisley in "Whiskey Lullaby."
She's the best Bluegrass band around. I was at her first appearance at the Grand Old Opry. She's a fine fiddle player and a good singer.
I am afraid it may be soldout
She is totally awesome.

Also, I'm embarrassed to admit I can't think of the other bands she was with, they had songs in "O Brother where art thou"
"That was also Union Station. One and the same."
Heard it years ago - Doc Watson, (Down in the Valley to Pray) w/o all the backup chorus ans sweet mixing.
AK has a voice like a kazoo.
The Cox Family maybe?
Well, best wishes for great success for both of you! We've got your card :-).
Dan Tyminski was a major part of the soundtrack and is in her Union Station band. Are you talking about the Soggy Bottom Boys? Regardless, it was a great movie and a great soundtrack.
She is truly amazing.
Lucky man! Go and enjoy. They are not travelling anywhere within about 2000 miles from me (wonder why?) Other than a group no one on here has every heard of, Alison Krauss is my favorite singer.
YUP! Toby Keith is a good example of that.
Ah, I should have read all the way through the thread before responding.
