Three Other Juveniles Also Charged In Connection With Stolen Gun

INDEPENDENCE, Ky. -- Four boys, ages 10 and 13, have been charged in the shooting of an 11-year-old boy in Northern Kentucky Dec. 2.

A 10-year-old accused of shooting Timothy Cooper in the chest was charged with wanton endangerment.

That boy and two others, 10 and 13, were charged with burglary for stealing the .22-caliber rifle and other items from a house in the 400 block of Hilltop Lane in Latonia.

A 13-year-old was charged with receiving stolen property.

Cooper was not charged. He is recovering and has been released from the hospital, police say.

Police say the boys were playing with the rifle on a front porch in the 400 block of Hilltop Lane when Cooper was shot.

After the shooting, the boys panicked and threw the rifle into a nearby lake, police said.

Dive crews recovered the gun.

In Kansas this week (I can't find a link), a 10-year-old stabbed his 14-year-old brother. Thank God the older boy was treated and released from the hospital. The younger is in a detention center.

There was another story about kids around this age (10-11), a 14 y/o and a 16 y/o (IIRC) who were involved in burglary and holding a 70-some y/o woman hostage.

Hard to believe kids this young are doing things like this. But several years ago, it was a group around this age who beat to death another young kid in England, and it made headlines here.

why is it hard to believe?.....many boys that age are monsters....

and why not?....parents often not home, working....they have constant Nintendo violent games, they get to have porn on their computers, and heck, even on the family tv because daddy is watching too....

we force feed all kids this ridiculous "me first" attitude coupled with this air of entitlement.....

we push materialism to the hilt that nobody of average earning capability can sustain.....

IOWS....we are growing sociopaths .....

I'd really like to return to the "old" days where kids were a little nieve and a little sweet, at the same time, yet were 100% all boy......
