A gentleman or lady should always be polite to all guests. There are ways to have a civil discourse with most people if you show some respect for their viewpoint. This is true however much you disagree with them. If all that fails just ask them to leave. If they won't leave, try a bucket of ice water over the head and the heck with the polite part.
