The religion of peace is at it again. The Tamil Tigers have warned that no aid will be allowed through to help Sri Lanka unless they are given it directl control to dole out. I suppose they'll want that in cash?

The only Red Cross I am willing to support is the local Red Cross. The national and international versions of the Red Cross are just corporations in business to do quasi-charitable work.
Personally, I'm giving to Catholic Relief...I'm just compiling a list that I can circulate to as many people as possible. I wouldn't directly give a penny to anything connected to the UN
I sure wish that these charities would publish the % of money that goes to help the people of this great tragedy.
After spending the last seven months in Iraq, I will make sure that my contributions only go to organizations who are also supporting rebuilding effforts there. They, along with the Iraqi people, are true heroes and deserve my support. Organizations such as American Friends Service Committee who send volunteers and then call for troop withdrawal will not see one dime of my money.

It would be good to be able to put together a "cream of the crop" list of organizations we think are worthwhile because of how they have behaved in the past and their adminstrative costs being reasonable, and their effectiveness at their outreach.
