A Day in the Life of President Bush (photos): 12.29.04

As the Asian quake and tsunami death toll topped 100,000 and is rising, President Bush said the United States' initial grant of $35 million in SE Asia was 'only the beginning of our aid.' He said the United States, India, Australia and Japan have formed an international coalition to coordinate worldwide relief and reconstruction efforts for the Asian region. Aid agencies today warned disease will also cause massive casualties among the survivors as the biggest relief effort in history began.

The president took issue with Jan Egeland, the United Nations' emergency relief coordinator who called the US "stingy" in regard to helping other nations. (Egeland later said his remarks were misinterpreted.) Bush noted that the United States provided $2.4 billion "in food, in cash, in humanitarian relief to cover the disasters for last year. ... That's 40 percent of all the relief aid given in the world last year."

Enjoy your visit to Sanity Island!

my new little House that's currently under construction.

Oh, Good Luck! Building your own can be very stressful.

We are all doing pretty good. Thanks!

Hi Prairie--

I missed Brit's show . . . what did they say about the Ramsey thing? I sure wish we could get these traitors permanently to a country they'd like better than the evil, terrible, rich, FREE United States.

The Washington Post" couldn't refrain from slamming the president for his supposed laxity of continuing to be on vacation during this SE Asian disaster.

A marked difference in religious beliefs.

Christians are supposed to boast about their charity work. In fact, discussing it can negate God's blessing.

RE: The Pres. reading the Psalms . . .

I also see him and his detractors in many of the Proverbs. Lately I've been reading the chapter of Prov. corresponding with the date. Ch. 28 and 29 talk a lot about leaders and being made fun of, put down, etc. BUT also reassure that the righteous will prevail eventually (this is a paraphrase, of course!!!) and this seems to fit the situation perfectly. It's amazing that the Pres. doesn't get "down" with the constant criticism. I sure do!

We had a very nice Christmas.

My SIL put up a beautiful tree and decorations and made a fabulous turkey dinner.

My MIL did a ham for Christmas Eve that was so good I bought one when I got home and baked it last night.

And bought some lentils and split peas to use up the left overs. Oh, boy!

*** continuing to be on vacation during this SE Asian disaster. ***

Well, gosh, don't you know he could be doing sooooo mcuh more to help if he was in Wash. DC . . . or maybe he should be over there on the beaches . . . what a difference THAT would make . . .

(sarcasm, off)

Glad you had a good one! We did too. Nothing too dramatic or exciting . . . oh, except it's been 50 degrees so that's been nice but calm is OK.

We're getting tired of ham in our house . . . made a ham and cheese souffle two nights ago and that was a big hit.

LOL! Yes, I guess a bunker in the basement of his house would be a very bad thing! I'll bet there are all sorts of "surprises" on that land though.

Earlier someone posted a thread complaining about President Bush not being a real cowboy because he had never seen a picture of him on a horse.

Well, here are some little boy pictures of him on a horse that I found......

Isn't he just the cutest thing!

What a joy for you all to be togheter! Hope you kept lots of leftovers. We've been eating on ours for days. :-) Made a ham and cheese souffle the other day to use up some of the ham.

Ours was fine, too. Quiet, and that was good.

Do you do anything special for New Years?

Oh, Good Luck! Building your own can be very stressful.

Thank you!
It has been pretty Stressful, but Exciting, too.

I had a Lovely Christmas, dear Homemom! It was Nice to see my sweet Moma and my Entire Family, although I had to Leave the Room once when two of them started Proclaiming their Dislike for our beloved President. :(

Most of my Family are Democrat, with a few of them pretty close to the Commie-Lib Category! :(

Yes, the Proverbs and the Psalms seem to fit right in with the needs, the character, and the solace given our President in these trying times. These are the times that do try good men's souls.....especially this good man.
