A Day in the Life of President Bush (photos): 12.29.04

As the Asian quake and tsunami death toll topped 100,000 and is rising, President Bush said the United States' initial grant of $35 million in SE Asia was 'only the beginning of our aid.' He said the United States, India, Australia and Japan have formed an international coalition to coordinate worldwide relief and reconstruction efforts for the Asian region. Aid agencies today warned disease will also cause massive casualties among the survivors as the biggest relief effort in history began.

The president took issue with Jan Egeland, the United Nations' emergency relief coordinator who called the US "stingy" in regard to helping other nations. (Egeland later said his remarks were misinterpreted.) Bush noted that the United States provided $2.4 billion "in food, in cash, in humanitarian relief to cover the disasters for last year. ... That's 40 percent of all the relief aid given in the world last year."

Enjoy your visit to Sanity Island!

It is also against the jewish religion to mention any good deeds as they will be negated by telling of them.

I usually laugh when so many FReepers put in " It's Bush's fault" to every event that comes up. But it really is true. NOTHING happens that without the Washington Compost or the New York Slimes to slur the President or Vice President with it. Don't they understand that every slur, every charge - CHEERS OUR ENEMIES, THE PEOPLE WHO WANT US DEAD....AND WHO WANT EVEN THE AUTHORS OF THE CRITICISM DEAD? It just boggles the mind that they cannot under any circumstances just keep their mouths shut. We are in a WAR on Terrorism and their LOOSE LIPS and VENOM FILLED MOUTHS will sink our ship of state unless God's mercy continues to intervene.

I gave all the leftovers to my mom and two sons to take home...ham, smoked turkey and Italian beef w/ sausages(Chicago style) cheeses, potato salad dips(spinach)...including all my homemade cookies, cakes and candies...I have nothing to snack on and I even had to cook tonight...LOL..Mike and I won't be doing anything special on New Years, probably babysitting.

Sometimes the best thing to do is to leave the room when some of those relatives irritate you (either that or a nice glass of wine--LOL!)

Excuse me, I'm hungry after your post and need a snack before I reply . . .

OK, now I'm back! LOL!

I'm cooking too tonight--pork chops--because I'm as tired of leftovers as everyone else.

We won't do anything special for New Year's either . . . probably be asleep by 10. How is your dear grandson?

No, Freedom, they do NOT understand that the ULTIMATE, ONLY goal of the terrorists is to see us all DEAD. There is no compromise for the terrorists, none at all. They want us all DEAD, adn don't care if they die too. In fact they'd prefer it that way.

Until they get that thru their thick skulls, I don't think we'll ever actually win this war on terror (I don't mean just Iraq, I mean terrorism in general).

It makes me sick--if everyone would support the President and the fight against terrorism, it would be over so much faster, with so much less loss of life. I know the Pres. knows this and it must hurt him so bad to not be able to get thru to these people.

Not to make you jealous, :-) but we'll be in our new house by the end of Feb (God willing!). Maybe we'll move in on the same day! I'm starting to pack; how about you?

"although I had to Leave the Room once when two of them started Proclaiming their Dislike for our beloved President. :("

I had that very same experience except I just kept my mouth shut as one on each side of me at the Christmas dinner table went on and on lambasting our President. I couldn't get up and leave so I just smiled and said nothing. I think it showed their hatred for what it is to others there who, no doubt, were impressed by my "reserve" (not the norm when politics come up for discussion).

I would have had to 'accidentally' spill something very messy on their laps. I have a very hard time keeping quiet, and admire your restraint.
