Trial Set on Inauguration Prayer
ACLJ ^ | Posted: 1/13/2005 | Jay Sekulow

This afternoon at 3:30 at the U.S. District Court in Washington, DC, oral arguments will take place in the Inauguration Prayer case. Dr. Michael Newdow has brought a challenge against President Bush in order to stop ministers from giving an invocation and benediction at the Inaugural swearing-in ceremony which will take place on Thursday, January 20th. All briefs in the case were filed on Friday. Senior Counsel Jim Henderson from our Washington, DC office will be in court on Thursday, and we will have frequent updates on our website starting this evening. We anticipate a very quick decision in the case. Dr. Newdow has asked for a preliminary injunction to stop the prayer activity. I anticipate the decision could be rendered as early as this evening. We have also been informed that Dr. Newdow plans on appealing the case to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia and, possibly, even to the Supreme Court of the United States. Our senior research teams at the American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ) are ready to file any necessary legal briefs in this case.....

This is the biggest bynuch of bulldurham I've ever seen.

How disgraceful.

Does this mean that the House and Senate will no longer open their daily sessions with a prayer...offered by a chaplain?

God help us and forgive us.

You can join the fight against the ACLU and their ilk by becoming involved with and supporting the following organizations:

Alliance Defense Fund (ADF) - http://www.alliancedefensefund.org

Thomas More Law Center (TMLC) - http://www.thomasmore.org

American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ) - http://www.aclj.org

The Rutherford Institute - http://www.rutherford.org/

Stop the ACLU Coalition - http://www.stoptheaclu.org

Here are a few examples of how two of those organizations are fighting back:

ADF Contacts Over 3,600 School Districts Over Attempts To Censor Christmas

ADF: 700 lawyers ready to fight ACLU lawsuits

ADF: Pentagons' Warning About Boyscouts Is Absurd

Thomas More Law Center: Town of Palm Beach Pays $50,000 In Attorney Fees Apologizes To Women In Nativity Lawsuit

Additional information:

The ACLU must be destroyed: Joseph Farah supports Boy Scouts, urges Americans to fight back

Citizens mobilized to stop ACLU (seeks to consign group to 'ash heap of history')

ACLU fulfilling communist agenda

Revealing FACTS on the ACLU from its own writings

The Courts are the ones who are at fault, they're the problem for hearing this case and legitimizing morons like Newdow.

Congress (yes, the spineless one!) must take a stand against this type of encroaching Judicial imperialism, or this country will surely and sadly to go to hell.

The judge should just put this bit of absurdity at the bottom if his "in basket" and get to it in due time...about the year 2010..or in the same amount of time it would take you to get a hearing on a typical court case.

Legal acknowledgement of the existence of God is the most fundamental tenet of American law:
"We hold these truths to be self-evident
that all men are CREATED equal,
that they are endowed by their CREATOR with certain inalienable rights..."
The most basic and fundamental statement of American law is that men are CREATED. The clause that follows it identifies Him Who CREATED us as the CREATOR.

The recognition and legal acknowledgement of the CREATOR precedes and supercedes all else--even equality and human rights.

Doesn't this Dr. Newdow guy have a real job or something? All he seems to do is file lawsuits.

It's amazing that this idiot gets so much air time. He was on radio talk show yesterday when asked why file now so close to the election... he gave some lame excuse that it just came to him. He just finds situations that he feels need immediate lawsuits. I hope the courts systems don't cave in. Won't the DUmmies love this.. Delay on Jan 20th.

How can anyone, let alone Newdow himself, take himself seriously if he thinks that the Founders, many of whom were Presidents themselves (and thus had the invocation and benediction at their inauguration), intended for this to come to pass? I don't understand at all!

Michael Newdow is under the notorious 9th Circuit if I am right. What right does he have to file under the U.S. District Court in Washington, DC?
