Alexander Payne's comedy "Sideways" led the nominations with seven and actor Jamie Foxx scored the most individual nominations with three when contenders for the 62nd annual Golden Globe Awards were announced December 13.
Other nomination leaders in the movie categories were "The Aviator" (six), "Closer", "Finding Neverland" and "Million Dollar Baby", each with five.
In the television categories, "Desperate Housewives" was prominent in its first season and the made-for-TV movie "The Life and Death of Peter Sellers" scored four nominations.
The Golden Globe Awards will be presented Sunday, January 16, 2005, during a star-studded ceremony broadcast live on NBC at 8 p.m. Eastern.

Star 'It's all about me' Jones will be on E!
Joan Rivers stretched face should be now shreded and banned from TV foreverever. Yuck!
I haven't seen any of these movies or shows.
Now that she is on the TV Guide channel she is one step closer to being gone from tv.
Be prepared for the usual sourpusses who will rain on the parade though. (I'm sure you are.) Hey, we all need a little diversion now and then.
Me, either. I'll be watching the special about the president on Fox.
Will check in here for great screen shots.
Request this be moved to Chat where it belongs
We're allowing football playoffs in breaking news. This is ok in news also.
But the Hollywood Loonie Lefties?
Ah, it probably makes better sense to have one here so people don't keep opening new ones.
I'll have to see if any Conservatives are up fo GGs and root for them :)
I apologize for my move to chat request :)
Golden Globes, Oscars and Emmy's are a tradition here. Hang on for the fun, especially with the crazy fashions!
It should be fun. My wife loves to see who is wearing the outrageous gowns and call me over to see them.
Want to know how it will turn out ahead of time?
It's easy!
Ask yourself "What would Satan do?"
Best Motion Picture -
Million Dollar Baby
For it's promotion of "Mercy Killing".
Best Actor
Liam Neeson in "Kinsey"
For it's promotion of Homosexuality.
Best Actress
Imelda Staunton in "Vera Drake"
For it's promotion of Abortion
Never mentioned because it wasn't nominated
"Passion of the Christ"
I thought "Troy" was worthy of a few nominations. Several others too.
Every year they choose obscure, low-budget, unpopular, often completely offensive movies. And the SAME actors over and over: Meryl Streep, Johnny Depp, Nicole Kidman, Renee Zelwegger, etc. That Bridget Jones sequel was a total bomb.
But...I'll watch the Golden Globes and Academy Awards anyway! It's simply curiosity about that strange croud of over-paid, self-indulgent, corrupt, uneducated, and automatically left-leaning fools (They do NOT think for themselves! They are like high school students, conformity to be cool)!
Is Star Jones' new husband gay? He looks gay to me from the pictures I've seen. The photos of her wedding were repulsive to me in their extravagant decadence. I'm sure I was influenced by the aversion I already had for her.
At any rate, thank you for the thread. Being out west I always see the red carpet and the actual event later so it's fun to read and not have to watch.
Thank you~
Fox has the Oscar locked up for Ray. It was more an impersonation but a brilliant one. It will almost make up for Denzel Washington winning one of the least deserving OScars of all time for 'Training Day'. I wish people wouldn't pay so much attention to the Golden Globes. They are given out by sycophantic foreign journalists. They have no aesthetic credibility whatsoever.
