BTW, I am not necessarily in disagreement with you, there is a certain gravity to rebel against certain parents.
I think they just don't like being told they're wrong. Especially since they know they are.
You certainly don't care about those who disagree, you care about the faction you can isolate and instigate. If you can pit 'conservatives' from 'neeedlebutts' your self-delusional mission will be complete.
Sorry, post#101 should have been to you, I wasn't talking to myself.:)
"I've been to a couple of Fuel concerts, man when I was 20,I had the biggest crush on Brett."
I still have a little crush on him, and I really enjoy Fuel's music.
However, that being said, it was pretty stupid to swear in a venue such as this. At least he realized his mistake and immediately apologized instead of blaming it on something else (such as a "wardrobe malfunction"). The guy's human and makes mistakes just like everyone else.
Lol, YOU "personally"??
Yes, oh Great One. I had YOU in mind, but cowered in cyber-fear at ruffling your sensitive golden feathers.
Thanks for the laugh.
Awesome and true!.... Oh now I'm a bad person for saying that... I hope the clerics don't come out to stone me soon...
Yes! Because that's Christ like behaviour. We could also cane the individuals that like this guys music....
Ironic... isn't it.... I wish the RNC had just hired a polka band and played pin the tail on the donkey with ice cream and cake.... That really would have brought out the youth in droves......
I would differentiate between swearing and swearing at someone. What the rocker said was inappropriate for the venue, but this is blown kinda out of proportion. It's just a word man. It didn't seem like there was intended disrespect to anyone.
Examples of lies? Does the infant see truth and harmony in the family foundation? Are threats of dire consequences made, and not fulfilled? Does the parent honestly tell the child he doesn't know an answer, or does the parent fail to admit their lack of knowledge? Does the parent forbid things which are beyond their control? For instance; not liking the look of little Tommy you warn your darling not to have anything to do with little Tommy. This will immediately intrigue your darling and your darling will immediately try to find out more about little Tommy. Instead, keep your line of conversation open, and for goodness sakes, listen to your darling, and when your darling tells you about little Tommy you can provide truthful, honest, subtle guidance. Perhaps in this manner you can help little Tommy, too.
I think most of our kid's traits are established in early years, especially in regard to honesty. I think a child will respect a parent who says, "I don't know, but" rather than a parent who says whatever admonishment or 'white lie' rolls off their lips. I think we, as parents, can learn much from our kids.
Thought so. Thanks for the admission and you're welcome for the laugh.
However, parents have never been perfect and I don't think it is anything new, so there must be another set influences which deserve credit for the modern shape of morality.
Personally, I would rather have Billy Graham as my example instead of Larry Flynt.
Larry Flynt types have shaped a pop-culture which is unable to blush. This is a man who admits he had sex with a chicken and says nobody should make a big deal out of it. (Then his greatness was glorified in a movie)
I agree that the was a sea change, caused by communist leanings, in '64, but that the tide went completely out with Roe vs. Wade. The very promise of the premise of the Preamble ~ Life, Liberty, Pursuit of Happiness ~ the first premise shat upon. Three things, how hard is that? Regardless, Life is compromised, Liberty has been traded for security, and the pursuit of happiness determined by the righteous.
Yes, here she is: beauty, talent, and - oh wait... never mind.

It is worth noting how Norma McCorvey (Jane Roe in the famous case) is pleading that Roe v. Wade be overturned.
We were speaking of lying and falsehood so that brings to mind the ACLU.
They used Norma McCorvey just like they have shamelessly and dishonestly used people in the past (from John Scopes to Michael Hardwick to Michael Newdow)
The ACLU has tirelessly worked to artificially and dishonestly change our law and our culture by using deceit and well-placed RAW JUDICIAL POWER to mangle the original intent of the law.
This legal legerdemain has overturned any law which had -from the beginning- held back that 'tide' you spoke of. -I mean, they are even attacking the Boy Scouts to force them to accept blatant immorality.
Spot on! Its as if the aclu seeks every means to destroy the country. Not only am I not in favor of the gubmint supporting the organization, I'd like to see 'loser pays' applied to them.
I'm extremely comfortable with the label. I just happen to have thicker skin and a better grasp of reality in regards to the world around me. You go ahead and try to control other people and what they say, or even what you expect of them.
