It may come to all of that anyway. There's really no escape valve for Islamics with nukes - whether it's Al Qaeda or Iran.
I'm a practicing Catholic, too, and I would not bet on the world looking the same in five years... If our backs are ever against the wall, we'll go "all in". But I think if it's a radiation bomb it would create the impetus for a GREATLY expanded conventional foray in the Middle East and maybe even North Korea. We'd see a draft instituted almost immediately.
A thermonuclear response would be regrettable.
Actually if you look at the recent posting history of vannrox, every 4th post or so of his/her/it is in bold, color, and/or large print. Unless he/she/it can provide some follow up info on why his post #359 is anything other than simple outsider speculation, I wouldn't give it much heed.
Keep us posted to any "breaking news" that crosses the wires.

I agree that a dirty nuke would not necessarilly justify full blown nuclear war. But we should tear down perhaps four more Islamo-facist regimes.

So it's very likely that the suspects are under orders from Beijing.
If it's really a diversion, they'll strike in London tomorrow, not Washington or Boston.
My definition of proportionate:
They want to destroy us.
We destroy them.
