Law forces churches to hire homosexuals

Illinois churches are protesting a new state law that bars them from "discriminating" against homosexuals, contending it robs Christians of their First Amendment freedoms.

Gov. Rod Blagojevich signed the bill into law yesterday amid a demonstration led by the Illinois Family Institute, or IFI, a non-profit group affiliated with Focus on the Family, Family Research Council and Alliance Defense Fund.

The measure adds "sexual orientation" to the state law that bars discrimination based on race, religion and similar traits in areas such as jobs and housing.

The bill was signed to loud cheers and a standing ovation from about 150 homosexual-rights supporters who see it as a human-rights issue. ...

"Good for an additional 500,000 Repub votes in 2006!"

And Democrats wonder why people are leaving the party in droves.

"They are afraid of Muslims."

That is because they are cowards. They are also afraid of God, too. Christophobes.

"Their attempts to sue God for calling homosexuality an abomination fell on deaf ears--they couldn't seem to get through--so they picked the next best target."

In total agreement here. I think we will continue to see the church under attack from all angles.

Thank God we can look forward to a happy ending.

"The Civil Rights Act...chickens coming home to roost."

It's going to get worse. Soon we will be seeing laws forcing groups to hire pedophiles.

The homosexuals already have this planed out.

You will not have to hire homosexuals. HOWEVER if you do not hire homosexuals then you will loose your tax exempt status.

It is ok to remove all religion from he state but it is not ok for the religion to remove the state from the religion.

Sad to say but we need a religious conscious "law" which will superceed this type of state idiocy. The feds already have dominion over this via the first and this will just be an law which is an extension of that protection of religious exercise.

Free speech has been eliminated in Canada and parts of Europe thanks to the homosexual agenda. Now, religious freedom has fallen in the state of Illinois.

"If there is a "separation of church and state" as liberals profess, how could the government have the right to force a church to do anything?"

Pretty hypocritical, eh.

""The law can't be used to force people to violate their consciences." ...always the lie told by liberals/Democrats when they pass laws to COERCE people to violate their consciences..."

Totally true. Look at how many pharmacists have lost their jobs for refusing to dispense abortion drugs, for one example. So much for the "conscience clause." Apparently it only applies to liberals.

"I predicted in my college Marketing class (Baylor University) in 1980 that corporations would one day be required to hire "token homosexuals." The professor was horrified by my comment. My prediction may soon come true! What a sick frickin' world we now live in!!!"

In the same vein, I began predicting a couple years ago that pedophiles will soon have "special freedoms" as the homosexuals do. No one believed it, but the signs of subtle attack are already seen. Yes it is a sick world--we need to keep up the good fight.

"Watch now for Bible abridgement laws."

One step further... watch for outright banning of the Bible.

However the prohibition against political activism does not apply to churches with a predominantly black membership. Church sanction voter candidate cards, Open endorsements of candidates, and any other "no no" are all permitted if you have the right skin pigment and you are voting for the left.

The left has it as "you have the right to be forced to associate with us."

Homosexuality is a behavior not a trait, conservatives need to push and LEGISLATE this fact.

I hope that focus on the family et al keeps the spotlight on this through the next election cycle. Keep it on. It will work. People vote their consciences too.

First liberals (homo's are a significant part of that group) claim that speaking God's name and Christmas displays "violate the seperation of Church and state" while at the same time they are going to the Government (to court) to force Churches to hire them! What incredible hypocrisy.
======
They are criminals of the highest order against our country, in my humble opinion. They are lawbreakers, treasonists, and anti-American - opposed to everything that is America and American tradition. Our country, the country that IS AMERICA, COULD DO VERY NICELY WITHOUT THEM. UNDERSTATEMENT!!!!

I searched to see if this was previously posted, but nothing came up. Can you give me the link?

Here's your link.

Perhaps your search came up empty because you changed the article's headline, a definite FR no-no :)

And, FWIW, the other poster did not unnecessarily excerpt the article.
