There will be no arrests, no prosecution.

That’s quite possible… now.

I’d be interested in your NYPD career. I’ve got a one relative at NYPD and two at JCPD. They’d not be pissing over someone arguing for information not being released because they know their livelihoods ultimately depend on being able to do their jobs in a satisfactory manner.

I guess “satisfactory” depends on the audience. Whatever. Reap/sow.

Incidentally, I followed the ChiefNegotiator thread(s) for some time. Never found anything from what I could see.

But if someone came forward (and you never know who knows something and who is in jail in Mexico, etc, that was just released and wants to talk) It'd be tons easier if they spilled their guts about something that was never released... like the initial post here.

Whatever. I guarantee I won't lose one second of sleep either way.

I believe the article was referring to the Coptic clergy as priests, not Catholic priests.

"Never found anything from what I could see."

There was a lot that you nor anyone else saw.

I was COB1 in those days, as you probably know.
I gave up over a year ago.

On that, and fifty plus years of living.

I didn’t because I just stop by from time-to-time, but I seem to remember “COB1”.

I gave up over a year ago.

Yep. It happens like that a lot -- They don’t know anything. Or haven’t been able to pull anything together that they can pin on someone.

It’s hard to believe that they can’t come up with something, but it isn’t like a TV show. Evidence burned up - nothing panned out – no one came forward. I don’t know (in that specific case).

Or – there is a distinct possibility that someone is incompetent. That DOES happen.

That scenario ignores the fact that some people are corrupt and are complicit in (whatever). That has also proven to be true.

In that situation, I can't help you.

Point is though, that if you get nutty and start broadcasting stuff (like how their necks were cut, and how many holes were in whose necks – you F it up).

That info may make someone feel better to let-fly, but it pretty much monkey-wrenches the case.

I know... it's just one of many (and many-many, truth be told) cases that just linger on. I don't take any pride in it. Don't know anyone that would, either. That's just me though.

"Why, oh why, did I ever move to Jersey??"

Well, I know why I moved here, but I am strongly feeling it is time to get the heck out.

NY is out of the question though, it would be out of the fire and back into the frying pan.

I'm really leaning towards VA, I liked it down there a lot.

Of course, I should really move further away to get away from the terrorists. But the whole fan damily's here. (In NY, that is, not NJ)

Have to agree the M.O. is not from the occult sect. I see visions of camel goons as the perps. NSNR

"Why are they doing an autopsy?"

I think they are often done in murder cases, even if the cause of death is obvious.

You need to watch one of the several versions of CSI! Watch the Las Vegas, original, one, it's really the best.

It's done to collect details of the murders, that only science can reveal, not to look for other possible causes.

>>So, slowly but surely, the information is coming out to support what we've known all along.<<

Tex, you're old enough to know that our Uncle is thief and a liar. He's not about to get religion anytime soon and change his ways.

If you wake up with the answer anytime soon I'd sure like to hear it.

Perhaps they thought (their) allah would punish them if they stole the infidels jewelery? I hope this crime is solved and the perps receive the needle. No pass go, and minus 72 virgin camels doing the belly dance. NSNR

"There will be no arrests, no prosecution. The muslim killers are long gone and their pals who are still here will never talk."

Well, it IS Jersey City you know. I venture that most murders committed here are never solved.

I had a uniformed Jersey City policeman once tell me "Basically we're not a real police department".

Add this family to the victims of 9/11 and the number of victims is still not enough for our gov't to really get serious about protecting us from the Jihadists that are HERE, not in the caves of Afghanistan or the back alleys of Mosul.

The mere fact that some man can get on a plane in Cairo and be here in a few hours, and this is still permitted, is enough to demonstrate that our national will is still quite weak. And it's gonna remain weak until Bush, et al. are willing to state that we are in a war against Global Jihad, and not Terrorism.

In this case there was a rivalry going on between the arson investigators and the police department.
I never did understand the inner workings of this dispute.

I kick started their investigation by gathering leads for them after nothing had been done for six months.
I was on good terms with the arson guys, then all of a sudden one day it changed, and they wouldn't tell me anything. That's the way it went for the rest of the time I was involved.

"I believe the article was referring to the Coptic clergy as priests, not Catholic priests."

But the Copts ARE Catholics. They are not Roman Catholics (I don't think) but they're Catholics, as opposed (I guess) to Protestants.

Help! I need someone from the Religion Forum to help explain the properly.

... the dog's barking is curious.... but there was no barking dog, Holmes... that is what is curious about it, my dear Watson...

Just why are these "terrorists" NOT sending messages to the media about what they did, and why and what they intend to do in the future ?

Why are these terrorists not doing any terrorizing ?

What would Occam's Razor say about that ?

That is not antiCatholic anymore than noting that certain priests are practicing homosexuals is antiCatholic.

I think that when a Coptic family, one of whom had been threatened for making comments about Islam that were deemed derogatory, were found murdered in a fashion that is associated with killings that have been carried out ny Muslim terrorists ...... then Occam's Razor would suggest that a hate crime is likely. Adding hypothesis about "old country" "vendetta" seems, at this point, not useful.

No, they're not. They are more closely related to Eastern Orthodox.

they should have taken the jewelry. That way the motive would be listed as robbery instead of hate

Perhaps the killers did not want robbery to be the suspected motive. Perhaps they want this to be taken as a threat to the Coptic and then the rest of the Christian comunity.
