SENATOR KERRY ASKED TO SIGN RECORDS RELEASE FORM

Watchdog Asks Kerry to Keep His Word Concerning Signing Standard Form 180

Kerry's Opportunity to Release Full Naval Service Record to the American People

(Washington, DC) Judicial Watch, the public interest group that investigates and prosecutes government corruption, today asked Senator John F. Kerry to keep his word to the American public and sign a Standard Form 180 (SF 180), "Request Pertaining to Military Records." On Sunday, January 30, 2005, during an appearance on the NBC News show "Meet the Press," moderator Tim Russert asked Senator Kerry (three times) if he would sign an SF 180 and release all of his military records. On the third attempt Senator Kerry answered Mr. Russert plainly:

MR. RUSSERT: Would you sign Form 180?

SEN. KERRY: Yes, I will.

In a letter hand delivered to Senator Kerry's office, Judicial Watch asked him to execute the SF 180 immediately and thereby put to rest the controversies surrounding his service as a U.S. Navy officer.

Judicial Watch requested release of Senator Kerry's military service records under the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act ("FOIA"). Navy Personnel Command withheld thirty-one (31) pages of documents because Senator Kerry refused to sign an SF 180 and release them to the public. The records pertained to: "Personnel service jackets and service records, correspondence and records in both automated and non-automated form concerning classification, assignment, distribution, promotion, advancement, performance, recruiting, retention, reenlistment, separation, training, education, morale, personal affairs, benefits, entitlements, discipline and administration of naval personnel."

"Senator Kerry has yet to come clean with the American people," stated Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton. "We hope he will finally keep his promise to release his military records."

Much of the information concerning Sen. Kerry's questionable awards for valor, and allegations concerning his actions both on Active Duty and as an Inactive Naval Reserve officer was detailed in the best-selling book "Unfit for Command," by John E. O'Neill and Jerome R. Corsi, PhD.

"I can forgive Tim Russert for a lot for bulldogging Kerry into making a clear statement on national TV that he would sign a SF180."

Really?

Tiny Tim was looking for many to do just that.

Russert knows, as any sane person does, that Kerry is finished as far as any future presidential consideration goes, except perhaps in his [kerry's] delusional mind.

Tiny was simply trying to reposition himself to look like a good guy to the "in crowd".

The Form 180 questions were merely Tiny pulling the sheep over your wool.

"Is it possible that he has purged the file?"

I would say probable. Why you might ask?

That does not make it true. Until it is confirmed it is based on speculation. Well founded speculation, yes, but speculation none the less.

I'll bet anything he'll never sign his Form 180. If it had been honorable he would have waved his records higher than the flag all during the months before Now.2, and particularly after the Swift Boat vets went after him.

In that Meet the Press interview he did say he'd sign the 180 form. But he was also hedging, saying that he'd released already EVERY record that he'd been given. So who knows what excuse he'll come up with, but we won't see his full military records, IMHO.

Col. Geo. "Bud" Day Medal of Honor Vietnam POW 1967-1973 USMC - USA Attorney 1949-2004-

Dear Joe: The major issue in the Swiftboat stories is, and always has been,
what John Kerry did in 1971 after he returned from Vietnam.

Kerry cast a long dark shadow over all Vietnam Veterans with his outright perjury before the Senate concerning atrocities in Vietnam. His stories to the Senate committee were absolute lies.. fabrications.. perjury.. fantasies, with NO substance. That dark shadow has defamed the entire Vietnam War veteran population, and gave "Aid and Comfort" to our enemies..the Vietnamese Communists. Kerry's stories were outright fabrications, and were intended for political gain with the radical left..McGovern, Teddy and Bobby Kennedy followers, Jane Fonda, Tom Hayden, and the radical left who fantasized that George McGovern was going to be elected in 1972. Little wonder that returning soldiers from Vietnam were spit upon and castigated as "baby killers".
A returned war hero said so.

Kerry cut a dashing figure as a war hero, lots of medals, and returned home because of multiple war wounds..even a silver star. His Senate testimony confirmed what every hippie had been chanting on the streets.."Hey hey LBJ..How many kids did you kill today"?????
He obviously was running for political office in 1971.

Until Lt. John O' Neil, himself a Swifboat commander, spoke out before the 1972 elections against Kerry's outright deceptions, there was no one from the Swiftboat scene that could contradict Kerry's self serving lies.

I was a POW of the Vietnamese in Hanoi in 1971, and I am aware that the testimony of John Kerry, the actions of Jane Fonda and Tom Hayden, and the radical left; all caused the commies to conclude that if they hung on..they would win. North Vietnamese General Bui Tin commented that every day the Communist leadership listened to world news over the radio to follow the growth of the anti-war movement. Visits to Hanoi by Jane Fonda and Ramsey Clark gave them confidence to hold in the face of battlefield reverses.
The guts of it was that propaganda from the anti-war group was part of their combat strategy.

While the Commies were hanging on, innumerable U.S. Soldiers, Sailors, Marines and Air Foce members were being killed in combat.

Every battle wound to Americans after Kerry's misdirected testimony is related to Kerry's untruthfulness.

John Kerry contributed to every one of these deaths with his lies about U.S. atrocities in Vietnam.

He likewise defamed the U.S. with our allies and supporters.

His conduct also extended the imprisonment of the Vietnam Prisoners of War, of which I was one.

I am certain of at least one POW death after his testimony,
which might have been prevented with an earlier release of the POWs.

I draw a direct comparison of General Benedict Arnold of the Revolutionary War, to Lieutenant John Kerry. Both went off to war, fought, and then turned against their country. General Arnold crossed over to the British for money and position. John Kerry crossed over to the Vietnamese with his assistance to the anti-war movement, and his direct liason with the Vietnamese diplomats in Paris.
His reward. Political gain. Senator..United States.

“Without question,
we were held captive longer
because of the anti-war people,
the Kerrys, the Fondas and Haydens,
the names we knew over there -
they encouraged the enemy to hang on.”
Excerpt from “Stolen Honor” website
- Leo Thorsness
Former Vietnam POW

Kerry also said in the spring of 2004 on MTP with Russert that he would sign the 180 and release all his records.

Then, as with the most current MTP interview, Kerry hedged and said 'all the records he had received have been released on his website.' Kerry is nuancing -- 'all the records he had received' -- implies that Kerry has NOT requested that ALL records be made available to him, but ONLY ones he requested have been made available.

How many more dance rounds will Russert and MSM go before they insist that Kerry finally sign 180 and quit the nuancing and hedging?

Dang; I was so hopeful until I saw the words "Judicial Watch."

LOL! Yes, that killed it.

Judicial Watch, the 'kiss of death'. It's where legal challenges are launched weekly by the dozen and get lost in space, never to be heard from again. Keep sending your money in though....

I pray that the day will come that you change you tagline to indicate that YOU are the Hero and EX-senator Kerry is a convicted war criminal.

We all know you are a hero, Tonk. We all want Kerry to pay for what he did to dishonor all of the heroes who served in Viet Nam.

Kerry is old news. He is a loser, and the whole democratic party knows his boat was sunk by the Swiftees...and would be again (only it would be uglier) if he ran in 2008.

IMO, we should be focusing on catching Hitlery in all her lies...and doing it with solid, irrefutable evidence.

Can you imagine a world with Bill as the UN Secretary-General, and Hitlery as President? HELL ON EARTH. If that happens I'm seriously going to start looking for the second coming of Christ.

I know, but chances are the he will never sign the form because it will show that he was given a dishonorable discharge and probably pardoned by Jimmy Carter.

that he was given a dishonorable discharge

I agree that he will not sign the form, but I believe that he was given an "OTH" discharge and not a "DisH.".

Anything less then an honorable though ends this guys xchances for future national office. But Mass. will continue to reelect him, hands down.
