President Bush left the White House this morning to visit the great state of Michigan to address the Detroit Economic Club, giving remarks about his budget, tax reform, job training, confronting problems and finding solutions now, and sharing his boundless optimism about the U.S. economy, before returning to the Whitehouse this afternoon. He then spoke at the Black History Month celebration in the East Room at the White House.

First Lady Laura Bush went to George Washington Elementary School in Baltimore, MD to promote the new White House initiative to keep young boys from drugs, sex and violence, and also returned to the White House to be with the President at the Black History Month celebration.

Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice gave her first official speech and press conference today at the Paris Science Politique Institute in France and met with Jacque Chirac.

With the President's approval numbers at 57%, it is a GREAT day to be a BushBot, so enjoy your trip to Sanity Island on the Daily Dose!

Since you started praying -- I am not making this up -- my sinuses have been draining at an amazing rate! The pressure / pain is lessening also.

My antibio won't be ready till tomorrow so this is going to make it easier to sleep tonight.

Thank you.

Thank you, CA. It's such an ugly thing to be at the "mercy" of an infection that won't leave. Bless you.

I had the same problem years ago. The doctor could do nothing further. Try a good physical therapist. They do wonderful things.

The picture of your pancakes looks more like crepes than pancakes. Do they have any leavening in them, like baking soda or baking powder? If they don't they're crepes.

Condi presents an image of a vital, brilliant, young, energetic, gentle but strong America. And young! Even the silly, doddering Europeans are sure to know by now never to underestimate this gorgeous woman! LOL

Because it felt cool at the time.

Besides, I like the guy. Him and GWB are quite alike: Straight shooting, gung-ho guys who like a good fight.

Heck, he even is a DINOcrat like M-E.

At least he is patting his own wife's behind. It's affection and the press is stupid for reporting it to begin with.

I agree with you completely, Kath. I haven't seen anyone on the FR threads about this who thinks there's anything wrong with the President showing such affection for his wife in public. Heck, as a number of people pointed out, we kept getting told to move on when Bill Clinton screwed an intern in the Oval Office of the White House on the taxpayer's dime. I think if Bill patted Hillary's butt in public or otherwise, she'd slug him.

My point is, we are human and when a couple has a very warm, affection love life, being "proper" doesn't always take the day.

And what's "proper" for some in a marriage isn't for others. How long have George and Laura been married? A quarter century? They are both 58. I think it is absolutely beyond wonderful that they still display such obvious affection for each other. They are a great role model for young couples, unlike the Clintons, whose marriage is an obvious sham.

Yep, he's right handed. We've pretty much decided that the confusion was caused by some photos that were printed/posted in reverse on Yahoo.

I think you read that face perfectly. One of the things I most like about GWB is what you described so well: "...an incredible sense of humor with a touch of naughtiness thrown in for good measure."

Good morning, Ohio!

Thanks for the ping!

Couldn't get here last night as I was so tired I went to sleep early.
