Psalm 5: 11-12

But let all those rejoice who put their trust in You;
Let them ever shout for joy, because You defend them;
Let those also who love Your name
Be joyful in You.
For You, O LORD, will bless the righteous;
With favor You will surround him as with a shield.

Lord,

We shout with joy that You are our God, our loving Heavenly Father, our Creator, our Guide, our Comforter, our Salvation. When our lives are tempestuous, You calm us and are a safe Harbor. When we stumble, You are there to pick us up. When we stray, You chastise us and lead us back onto the path of righteousness through Your infinite grace and mercy. You, O Lord, knew that we would be willful and would enter into sin so You sent the Word to become flesh and dwell among us to provide a way for us to come into fellowship with You through the atonement that he purchased at Calvary. We were there, Lord, when they nailed Him to that cross; our sinfulness put Him there. Yet Your love was great enough to reach out to us and grant us Your mercy. We praise Your hallowed Name, O Lord! As we enter the season of Lent, let us reflect on the depth of His sacrifice and let us search our souls that we might be led to serve You better and bring honor and glory to Your name through our thoughts and words and deeds.

Father, we claim Your blessings on George W. Bush for he seeks Your righteousness and calls Your Name. Defend him against his enemies, foreign and domestic. Lead him to Your wisdom as he studies Your word and communes with You through prayer. Grant him courage, discernment, love, patience, and peace. Let his actions be those You would have him take. Hold him and Laura close to Your heart; continue to strengthen their marriage, so filled with devotion and fidelity.

Lord, our troops remain in harm's way in places far from home and family. Be their Shield and their Comforter. Watch over their families while they are apart and draw them closer together through the absence.

Our nation has sinned against You, O Father; forgive us and revive us. Create in us clean hearts, eager to please You and follow Your commandments. Many in our nation have lost their way; they have fallen prey to the lies and deceits of satan and no longer hear Your voice. Send Your Holy Spirit to awaken them to the joys of trusting in You and serving You, honoring Your ways and seeking Your face. In the Name of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.

2 Chronicles 7:14
If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

AMEN KAYAK AND AMEN ALL!
GRACE AND BLESSINGS BRETHREN!

O Lord,

I am a shell full of dust,

but animated with an invisible rational soul

and made anew by an unseen power of grace;

Yet I am no rare object of valuable price,

but one that has nothing and is nothing,

although chosen of thee from eternity,

given to Christ, and born again;

I am deeply convinced

of the evil and misery of a sinful state,

of the vanity of creatures,

but also of the sufficiency of Christ.

When thou wouldst guide me I control myself,

When thou wouldst be sovereign I rule myself.

When thou wouldst take care of me I suffice myself.

When I should depend on thy providings I supply

myself,

When I should submit to thy providence I follow

my will,

When I should study, love, honour, trust thee,

I serve myself;

I fault and correct thy laws to suit myself,

Instead of thee I look to a man’s approbation,

and am by nature an idolater.

Lord, it is my chief design to bring my heart back

to thee.

Convince me that I cannot be my own God,

or make myself happy,

nor my own Christ to restore my joy,

nor my own Spirit to teach, guide, rule me.

Help me to see that grace does this by providential

affliction,

for when my credit is good thou dost cast me

lower,

when riches are my idol thou dost wing them

away,

when pleasure is my all thou dost turn it into

bitterness.

Take away my roving eye, curious ear, greedy

appetite, lustful heart;

show me that none of these things

can heal a wounded conscience,

or support a tottering frame,

or uphold a departing spirit.

then take me to the cross

and leave me there.

A PURITANS PRAYER!

"And David enquired of the Lord."
- 2 Samuel 5:23

When David made this enquiry he had just fought the Philistines, and
gained a signal victory. The Philistines came up in great hosts, but, by
the help of God, David had easily put them to flight. Note, however, that
when they came a second time, David did not go up to fight them without
enquiring of the Lord. Once he had been victorious, and he might have
said, as many have in other cases, "I shall be victorious again; I may
rest quite sure that if I have conquered once I shall triumph yet again.
Wherefore should I tarry to seek at the Lord's hands?" Not so, David. He
had gained one battle by the strength of the Lord; he would not venture
upon another until he had ensured the same. He enquired, "Shall I go up
against them?" He waited until God's sign was given. Learn from David to
take no step without God. Christian, if thou wouldst know the path of
duty, take God for thy compass; if thou wouldst steer thy ship through the
dark billows, put the tiller into the hand of the Almighty. Many a rock
might be escaped, if we would let our Father take the helm; many a shoal
or quicksand we might well avoid, if we would leave to his sovereign will
to choose and to command. The Puritan said, "As sure as ever a Christian
carves for himself, he'll cut his own fingers;" this is a great truth.
Said another old divine, "He that goes before the cloud of God's
providence goes on a fool's errand;" and so he does. We must mark God's
providence leading us; and if providence tarries, tarry till providence
comes. He who goes before providence, will be very glad to run back again.
"I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go," is
God's promise to his people.
Let us, then, take all our perplexities to him, and say, "Lord, what wilt
thou have me to do?" Leave not thy chamber this morning without enquiring
of the Lord.

Beautiful prayer, kayak. Also, 2 Chronicles 7:14 is one of my favorite. This is President George W. Bush in action and we thank the Lord for allowing him to be President for another 4 years. We ask blessings on his entire administration and ask wisdom for them to make correct decisions for all. Dear Lord, we would not forget to ask blessings also for the many men and women who are serving bravely in the military so we many enjoy the freedoms of this great USA. We ask these blessings in Your Son's Precious Name, Amen.

This is the day that the Lord has made and we rejoice and are glad in it, for great is our God and faithful in all His ways. As we have prayed for our President and his administration in obedience to Your Word, we thank You for hearing from Heaven and healing our land. We thank You for granting wisdom and direction to those in authority over us. We thank You for enlightening the eyes of the understanding of those who have not met You as Lord and Savior and for sending Your Word to bring them healing in Your great mercy and love.

Your children worship You for You are a great God, the majestic glory, Lord and King, mighty to save. In Jesus' most excellent name, Amen.
