1 John 4: 7-11

Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.

O Lord,

Your love, a love so deep that You sent Your own precious Son to suffer a brutal death to pay for our sins, humbles us; it encourages us and lifts us up; it frees us from the bondage of sin. We can find no words to express our gratitude; therefore, we can only offer our lives to You. Take us, Lord, and mold us into the persons You would have us be. Increase our faith and trust in You as we yield our wills to Yours. Let us be Your ambassadors, bringing the Good News to those who walk in darkness and witnessing to Your goodness and grace in our daily lives.

Father, we remain grateful for the re-election of George W. Bush. He is a man whose love for his fellow man and for our nation shines brightly. He heaps praise on others and is not so puffed up with himself that he must be in the limelight but is eager to give others their due credit. He reaches out in kindness even to those who despitefully use him - and, regrettably, in today's political climate, there are many. Lord, continue to shine Your countenance upon our President. Lead him into Your will as he makes decisions in his personal life and for our nation. Hold him and his family close to Your heart, protecting them from all evil, spiritual or physical.

Lord, Your Word tells us that there is no love greater than to lay down one's life for a friend. We are ever mindful of those in our military who have made the ultimate sacrifice, not merely for their friends, but for the noble cause of freedom in distant lands. We thank You for these heroes and we ask that You comfort their grieving families. We lift up to You all those who serve in our armed forces and in civilian advisory capacities in such faraway places as Afghanistan and Iraq. Place Your protective hand on them; give them wisdom and courage as they face a devious enemy who is too cowardly to come out in the light. Bless the people of these countries who have just been granted liberty through Your grace; strengthen them and give them wisdom that they may use their freedom to bring proper justice to both the oppressed and the oppressors.

It causes us much pain, O Lord, to see the bitterness and enmity rampant in our beloved America today. These dark forces are not of You but are the work of satan who leads people away from the path of righteousness. We plead for revival in our nation; send Your Holy Spirit across our land, showing us how to love one another as You have loved us. Convict the lost of their sin that they may come to know the freedom that comes from relationship with You. Heal their broken spirits that they may experience the peace that passes understanding and live the abundant life promised by our Savior. In his Name we pray. Amen.

AMEN KAYAK AND AMEN ALL!
GRACE TO YOU BRETHREN!

Heavenly Father,

Save me entirely from sin.

I know I am righteous through the

righteousness of another,

but I pant and pine for likeness to thyself;

I am thy child and should bear thy image,

Enable me to recognize my death unto sin;

When it tempts me may I be deaf unto its voice.

Deliver me from the invasion as well as

the dominion of sin.

Grant me to walk as Christ walked,

to live in the newness of his life,

the life of love, the life of faith,

the life of holiness.

I abhor my body of death,

its indolence, envy, meanness, pride.

Forgive, and kill these vices,

have mercy on my unbelief,

on my corrupt and wandering heart.

When thy blessings come I begin to idolize them,

and set my affection on some beloved object –

children, friends, wealth, honour;

Cleanse this spiritual adultery and give me chastity;

close my heart to all but thee.

Sin is my greatest curse;

Let thy victory be apparent to my consciousness,

and displayed in my life.

Help me to be always devoted, confident, obedient,

resigned, childlike in my trust of thee,

to love thee with soul, body, mind, strength,

to love my fellow-man as I love myself,

to be saved from unregenerate temper,

hard thoughts, slanderous words, meanness,

unkind manners,

to master my tongue and keep the door

of my lips.

Fill me with grace daily,

that my life be a fountain

of sweet water.

A PURITANS PRAYER!

"I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, thy transgressions, and, as a
cloud, thy sins: return unto me; for I have redeemed thee."
- Isaiah 44:22

Attentively observe THE INSTRUCTIVE SIMILITUDE: our sins are like a cloud.
As clouds are of many shapes and shades, so are our transgressions. As
clouds obscure the light of the sun, and darken the landscape beneath, so
do our sins hide from us the light of Jehovah's face, and cause us to sit
in the shadow of death.
They are earth-born things, and rise from the miry places of our nature;
and when so collected that their measure is full, they threaten us with
storm and tempest.
Alas! that, unlike clouds, our sins yield us no genial showers, but
rather threaten to deluge us with a fiery flood of destruction.
O ye black clouds of sin, how can it be fair weather with our souls while
ye remain?

Let our joyful eye dwell upon THE NOTABLE ACT of divine mercy-"blotting
out." God himself appears upon the scene, and in divine benignity, instead
of manifesting his anger, reveals his grace: he at once and for ever
effectually removes the mischief, not by blowing away the cloud, but by
blotting it out from existence once for all.
Against the justified man no sin remains, the great transaction of the
cross has eternally removed his transgressions from him.
On Calvary's summit the great deed, by which the sin of all the chosen
was for ever put away, was completely and effectually performed.

Practically let us obey THE GRACIOUS COMMAND, "return unto me." Why should
pardoned sinners live at a distance from their God? If we have been
forgiven all our sins, let no legal fear withhold us from the boldest
access to our Lord.
Let backslidings be bemoaned, but let us not persevere in them.
To the greatest possible nearness of communion with the Lord, let us, in
the power of the Holy Spirit, strive mightily to return.
O Lord, this night restore us!

C.H.SPURGEON!

SOLI DEO GLORIA!

Lord God, Heavenly Father.

The "horns" of North Korea and Iran are fierce and terrifying. They are conundrums with which the POTUS must deal. There appears no way by which the President can act, We, therefore, beseech Thee to provide the angelic "smiths" which will powerfully and successfully act against those two evil powers, overthrow their vile leaders, and provide freedom to the suffering peoples.

We must fail not to thank Thee for the leadership, integrity, discretion, and discernment of George W. Bush. Please bring to his side those equipped with wisdom to advise him. We know that this is difficult to do in light of the fact that he is in an area where Christian apostasy and liberalism is rampant. Bring him good Bible instruction, nevertheless.
