Would someone clue me in to the appeal of IKEA????
A friend of mine and his wife are addicted to IKEA but I don't see why.

IKEA stuff is designed by actual designers, and it has sort of a European appeal (which is maybe why you don't care for it). Also very inexpensive. Not all of it is poor quality. I happen to really like IKEA.

Contemporary design at low prices.

It's not what I like but many people do.

My wife and I love IKEA. Some of their stuff is really cheap, but some of it is very high quality. We purchased some nice unfinished pine chests of drawers and nightstands a couple weeks ago. Bring them home in boxes and build them yourself. The little Swedish restaurants in the stores are great!
