Not people to mess with. They have a reputation to uphold, and I'm sure they are willing to do it.

The kukri, in the hands of ghurka, is about the best combat blade that you can get. It is the convergence of the right man/right weapon. These guys get my respect. No Doubt!

It has been mt privelege to know a Brit - wonderful gentleman - who once commanded the Bridage of Ghurkas. As my colleagues from the other side of The Pond have observed, "You don't talk back to a guy who used to lead all those fellows with their bloody long knives."

Gurkha story:

I heard this from a US Marine. In the Falkland War (1982) an Argentine unit was facing a British unit on one side and a Gurkha unit on the other.

The Argentines surrendered to the Brits.

I wonder why the train with the Indian made INSAS rifle.

I am also surprised that the MoD has not replaced the Carl Gustaf 84mm anti-tnk weapon.

Ghurkas are the third-world equivalent to SEALS -- or, actually, more likely -- Special Forces.

I wouldn't want to mess with them...or even try to run away from them, from the look of them.

I remember that the Ghurkus were fighting in the Fauklands in 1982. The Argentine conscripts were terrified of them!

Here's a little snipit I found about an action they were in south of Saigon.
"According to the Gurkhas, they had seen Japanese deserters leading some Viet Minh war parties. During this operation the only kukri (Nepalese knife) charge in the whole campaign occurred. According to a Gurkha platoon leader, at one point during the operation they were held up by determined Viet Minh defenders occupying an old French fort. The Gurkhas brought up bazooka and blew in the doors, then without hesitation drew out their kukris and charged into the fort, putting the defenders to the knife."
