So Jesus stood still and called them, and said, "What do you want Me to do for you?"They said to Him, "Lord, that our eyes may be opened."
In the beginning You created light and then later You sent Your precious Son, the Light of the World, to show us how to live joyful lives and then to sacrifice Himself for our sins. Yet many have rejected Your message and have shut their eyes to Your majesty, Your goodness, Your grace, and Your mercy. Lord, we pray for those who walk in darkness, stumbling through life; filled with bitterness, envy, greed, and pride; thinking that in order to build themselves up they must tear others down. Open their eyes and soften their hearts that they may finally know the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, come to save us all.
We acknowledge that even as children of faith we, too, are subject to human frailties and we thank You for the forgiveness of sin purchased so dearly on the Cross of Calvary. We submit our lives to You, O Father, asking that You continue to work in us, molding us into the persons You would have us be. Teach us to guard our thoughts and words that we might not betray You with our thoughtlessness and our willfulness. Accept our praise, O Lord, and hear our petitions.
We seek Your continued blessings on President Bush as he leads our nation and the world in the fight against terrorists and other enemies of freedom. Place Your words in his mouth and Your desires in his heart. Bestow upon him the gifts that he needs to carry out the duties of his office. We are grateful for our First Lady, also, dear Lord, and the wonderful example that these two set for our young people as they share a marriage of true warmth, devotion, admiration, and fidelity. Protect them from their enemies, both foreign and domestic.
Lord, we rejoice to see the progress in Afghanistan and Iraq but we also know that there are many obstacles yet ahead. Guide the people of these emerging nations as they make history with their new governments; give them wisdom and perception and a true vision of freedom for all that they might not slip back into oppressive ways.
We are so blessed to have such fine men and women in our military - people who are willing to sacrifice greatly to defend our nation and to fight for liberty and justice in other lands. We thank You, Lord, for these dedicated troops who have shown such bravery and have made us all so proud. Be their Shield, Lord, and their Comforter; and wrap Your loving arms around their families as they wait in pride and fear for the return of their loved ones.
We lift up Senator Specter to You, asking that You be with him as he faces his battle with cancer. Guide the medical professionals who are treating him that they may use the wisdom You provide to return him to health.
Lord, every day we read headlines of death and destruction, of evil being rampant in our beloved nation. Bind the hands of satan that the culture of death, the lust for power, and the greed of selfishness might be halted. Create in America a yearning to know You and to obey Your commandments. Forgive us our sins and lead us into the Light that Your Name might be glorified. In the Name of Jesus. Amen.
Praise God from Whom all blessings flow!
President Bush, our troops and the nation as a whole shall require even more pray once the Iranian-Syrian-Hizballah showdown gets underway.
Thank you from my heart for this Beautiful Prayer, sister Kayak. Praying with you to our Merciful and Gracious Savior.
Pray that the rest of the world sees this alliance for what it is...a threat to freedom and peace...not just to the USA and Israel, but to the whole world!
Our troops stationed in Iraq, as well as Afghanistan combat Iranian or Syrian trained jihadists on a continuing basis.
Some economic food for thought: If the Iranian mullah controlled regimé is not swiftly overthrown, the risk of these suicidal fanatics attempting to trigger an international market meltdown through launching waves of missiles, hoping some make it through directly hitting Saudi Arabia's largest oil field (directly across the Persian Gulf) is risk we can not literally afford with oil almost at $50, since crude oil prices will soar, based on trader pandemonium.
Even if the majority of incoming Iranian missiles can be neutralize, the fear factor of war taking place in & over the Gulf's oil shipping lanes, coupled with possible global supply shortfalls to dependent nations would also have a deleterious effect markets across the board.
When confronting such an arch evil as those running Iran heavy duty prayer is required for a quick victory.
Iran is Persia in the Biblical sense. 'Persia' is listed as a key player in the final countdown. Let's hope the current heads of Islamic 'Persia' are toppled from power prior to greater headaches effecting everyone.
Amen.
AMEN KAYAK AND AMEN ALL!!!!
O Lord God,
Thou art my protecting arm,
fortress, refuge, shield, buckler.
Fight for me and my foes must flee;
Uphold me and I cannot fall;
Strengthen me and I stand unmoved, unmoveable;
Equip me and I shall receive no wound;
Stand by me and Satan will depart;
Anoint my lips with a song of salvation
and I shall shout thy victory;
Give me abhorrence of all evil,
as a vile monster that
defies thy law, casts off thy yoke,
defiles my nature, spreads misery.
Teach me to look to Jesus on his cross
and so to know sins loathsomeness in thy sight.
There is no pardon but through thy Sons death,
no cleansing but in his precious blood,
no atonement but his to expiate evil.
Show me the shame, the agony, the bruises
of incarnate God,
that I may read boundless guilt in the
boundless price;
May I discern the deadly viper in its real malignity,
tear it with holy indignation from my breast,
resolutely turn from its every snare,
refuse to hold polluting dalliance with it.
Blessed Lord Jesus, at thy cross
may I be taught the awful miseries from which
I am saved,
ponder what the word lost implies,
see the fires of eternal destruction;
Then may I cling more closely to thy broken self,
adhere to thee with firmer faith,
be devoted to thee with total being,
detest sin as strongly as thy love to me
is strong,
And may holiness be the atmosphere
in which I live.
A PURITANS PRAYER!

We continue to pray for our President Bush, Laura, his wife, that the Lord watch over them, bestow untold graces upon them. Keep them safe from all spiritual and physical harm...We are most grateful that our President will guide us in the ensuing years and may the naysayers open their eyes and ears and heed programs that he sets forth...........Humbly, our prayers for the dedicated service persons are offered. May they continue in their work to completely free Iraq..In Jesus' name we pray
