Yet they cannot figure out how/why he died on a cold mountain, freezing his a** off trying to out run that irate husband that caught him messing with his wife.

Might be closer to the truth then you know.

Murder is either done for gain, for power or for revenge.

If it wasn't gain then revenge would be a likely motive.

"the Celts had tattoos, but i think that a resurgence of tattooing came about when Captain Cook's crew returned."

These 4,000 year old Caucasian mummies found in China had tattoos, male and female. The one named Cherchen/Charchan Man had spirals on both sides of his face.

Thia whole story is extraordinary and I love hearing about it. It's easy to think he was primitive, but he was the Donald Trump of stone age, he had flints, medicines, all sorts of artifacts.

And his hair and blood analysis show he was by occupation a copper smelter, quite an advanced skill for the time.

So it makes me wonder WHY he was exploring, was he exploring or being persued, I think we can conclude from what he had with him that he wasn't just out for a nice early afternoon hike.

... we were not nearly so ignorant or unable to trade with people from great distances...

What bugs me so much about modern day archaeologists, is how much they underestimate the people of the past.

Oetzi was old for his time -- at 45 -- and this could mean that he was toppled by younger rivals, Leitner's theory goes.

Nonsense, he may have been older than the average lifespan but he would have been the same biological age as any of us had he not been suffering a chronic ailment or constitutional malnutrition.

Since no evidence has been published to support that he was infirm at the time of death it is a leap of faith to assume that he was felled because he was an easy prey.

If no other remnants of weapons or fragments of clothing were found in situ with his discovery it is reasonable to assume that he did not die at the scene of a battle and perhaps was simply overtaken during a hasty journey into terrible weather by the elements of nature and burrrowed in where he became entombed by a chance set of topological and meteorological conditions.

Even modern mountain climbers often perish and are not recovered for months or even years when their locations at the time of disappearance is unknown.

The researchers here are probably running low on funds while the pressure for answers and conclusions are concurrently high and it is "publish or perish" time.

Alpine Iceman Reveals Stone Age Secrets?

Bob Woodward got the interview. It was very touching. Soon he will release Deep Throat's name.
