Scientologist Elfman wants to ‘clear the planet’ (Hollywood at it's Best)
MSNBC ^ | February 18, 2005 | Jeanette Walls

Posted on 02/18/2005 10:03:26 PM PST by huac

"...“I intend to make Scientology as accessible to as many people as I can. And that is my goal,” Elfman said. To do this, she says, it is my “duty to clear the planet.” By “clearing” she means to rid the world of “body thetans” — aliens who Scientologists believe inhabit the earth from a nuclear explosion 75 million years ago..."

I've often wondered how so many people have fallen into the Scientology pit. I have a co-worker who has a relative who sat and pumped almost $10k over two years into the religion. When the relative was just about broke...they simply said adios and moved on. The relative sat there...and couldn't believe the "lack of compassion" given by her handliers. But the simple truth is...they only make you a case...if you pump the cash.

The amusing thing is that the media won't touch them. Politicans are fearful of them because they will take you into court. And society for the most part...doesn't ever see behind the green door. The only case I know of...where a government closed the door on them...is the German government. The German finance office said they were free to come in and act like a religion but they'd have to open the finanical books to get their right. And they argued that freedom of religion didn't require that. The Germans responded that they could operate in Germany all they want...if they didn't take in cash. And of course, that simply won't work for these guys.

Liberals read and walk away thinking "gee, I wonder what she thinks of the situation in Iraq".

She's a perfect candidate for a Liberal spokesman.

She's an airhead representative of the intellect of airheads. The great Hollywood film makers are intelligent and scholarly.

If only she had brains to go with that.

Indeed. How tragic that the bulb would be burnt out in such a beautiful lighthouse. Did you know she was in ZZ Top's video "Legs"?

I did not know that! They were right about her too; she's got legs and knows how to use them. It's the only way she can make a living.

"aliens who Scientologists believe inhabit the earth from a nuclear explosion 75 million years ago..."

Geez, these are sure Very Old Aliens. Lets make them eligible for Social Security and then they're be beholding to the politicians and we could exercise some degree on control over them. Could it be that this Lib wants to limit their potential eligibility for S.S.?

Could these be considered illegal aliens?

To do this, she says, it is my “duty to clear the planet"

Apparently she started with the area between her ears.

People think she's beautiful? I'm ugly and I've dated better looking women that her. Look at those choppers--I think she meant "clear the planet of underbrush". Blech!

"I find it odd that these high profile actors either aren't aware of this exploitive practice or don't care."

I don't find it odd. I just finished watching a DVD, and I watched the actor's interviews at the end. These actors are dumber than a box of rocks.

The great Hollywood film makers are intelligent and scholarly.

I might agree if you said "were", when Hollywood believed in the American Dream. Dreamworks, Disney, Miramax heads are all rabid, liberal Democrats, hardly suggesting intelligence or scholorship.

"Is it any coincidence that her last big film was titled, "Looney Tunes: Back in Action"?"

Maybe instead of "clear the planet" she meant "empty the theater".

I heard a former scientologist explain that the upper income ones never see the seamy side of scientology, in which the lower strata of people are expected to work all the time and give all their money to the cult. She and her sister had joined in order to go to the so-called acting school. She escaped but her sister is too scared to leave.

Well studio heads aren't film makers. The likes of Eisner, Weinstien and their ilk are philistines of the highest order. I meant directors (Coppola, Spielberg, Scorsese) the latter perhaps being the country's foremost film scholar.
