I use norton antivirus and just noticed that it did not load an update for the ids program. It shows an error message "LU1848: Couldn't create callback object" and has the red x next to the IDS Program Updates. Anyone know what is going on. My subscription doesn't run out until December. Any advice would be appreciated.
Did you try it again?
Is the site working? I'd try it again, and if no luck, email them. You might have to uninstall norton, then reinstall, but I'd check with them first.
I had a similar problem. If you go to the symantec website there should be instructions on how to fix this. I believe that I had to delete all of the live update files and that didn't solve my problem. I ended up removing norton and then deleteing all the left over files from my hard drive and then I reinstalled norton and it has been fine ever since. Kind of a pain in the you know what though.
yeh ive had this problem b4 , but it was wiv the luveupdate include in NAV Pro 2k4. but this is how i fixed it ... 1) uninstalled liveupdate 2) deleted the whole of the liveupdate dir , and the bit in common files (you mite need to reboot b4 u can do this step) 3) download the liveupdate from >>HERE<< or extract the new beta version from NAV 2k5 and re-install it. thats it , thats how i fixed me problem wiv "LU1848: Couldn't create callback object"
If so, some people have had some problems to the extent that they have had to totally uninstall (and then delete all temp files and folders and find all of the various user's program info folders) and then reinstall.
If it is not the beta, then I have no advice.
I had a similar problem, I couldn't fix it, until I reinstalled the whole Norton Antivirus.
You may try that.
No but thanks for the link. It has provided some help.
I am running xp and the link you provided will probably fix things. thanks for all of the help.
Try as I might, I can't get it to go away and stay away.
What's IDS?
