N. Korea: Kim Jong-il Was Shot At (and knocked unconscious at his family compound)

On Jan. 30, an article in The Times of London said that there was a shootout in Kim's palace between Kim Jang-hyun, Kim Jong-il's stepbrother, and Kim Jong-chol, his second son. The following is the link to the article:

Next, I came across an article which said that Kim Jang-hyun was adopted by Jang Sung-taek and Kim Kyong-hee.

Now we have the article above which seems to tie all loose ends. It would be difficult to get an independent verification of this incident. However, three different news source fit together to give us the rather specific picture of the incident.

Kim Kyong-hee is said to be either an alcoholic or addicted to drug. Because of that, he is said to really ill or even have taken her own life. Either way, she is in real bad shape. Considering what happened to her family, we may understand why.

Too many Kim etc. I know what you mean. This is really interesting though. There have been some strange "accidents" involving dear leader in the last couple years, like the train wreck that caused a huge explosion devastating a villiage just after Kim passed through.
