WASHINGTON, Feb. 22 (Xinhuanet) -- The foreign-born population in the United States numbered 34.2 million in 2004, accounting for 12 percent of the country's total population, figures released by the Census Bureau on Tuesday showed.

The number of foreign-born population was 2.3 percent higher than that in 2003.

Of the foreign-born population, 53 percent were born in Latin America, 25 percent in Asia, 14 percent in Europe and the remaining 8 percent in other regions of the world, such as Africa and Oceania.

Second-generation Americans, which are natives with one or both parents born in a foreign country, numbered 30.4 million in 2004, accounting for 11 percent of the total US population, according to the Census Bureau, which conducted the survey of 62,500 households in March 2004.

About 6 million immigrants arrived in the United States since 2000, 59 percent of them from Latin America and 23 percent from Asia. These immigrants are more educated than those who came in the late 1990s, according to Census Bureau data.

I think I was rather clear.

Why should I give up my majority and that of my descendents ...so folks won't think I'm racist.

I can remember when being a racist meant something entirely different than not endorsing one's racial, ethnic, religious or cultural suicide.

And I know of no group in any country in the world being asked to do what we are here....none now and none historically.

We cannot absorb anyone in this magnitude ....not even if they were my southern peckerwood brethren.

I prefer the likes of Cubans over the masses of Sonoran campesinos streaming in bringing brujo y padron with them.

But...as I have said....enough already period....from wherever.

This is precisely why we cut it back after the early 20th century run-up and the resultant tenements and not so good stuff in the early transition. And those folks shared some cultural history with the majority host.

Folks who think this will end well have not studied history.....nor are they observing Mexican-American voting patterns from the here and now.

But like I said....many here cheering on the destruction of gringo culture have their own axe to grind with said culture.

The current immigration waves are probably 95% economic and are not yearning to be free....they are yearning to be rich.

I don't blame them but we can't take them all in. It's happening in Europe as well....the second and third worlds are like a tsunami....sheer population migration momentum.

One day they will look back at our founders in their knee britches and powdered wigs and go "Who the hell are those guys?"

That is exactly what some here applaud and if you resist that, you are a wascally wacist.

The true group left behind in all of this ironically will be American black descendents of slaves. Here in Nashville metro, they are now third teat behind hispanics and a slew of illegals.

well....i'll put in a good word for my lovely daughters who are dual citizenship with Brasil while we are at it.

but that doesn't change my views on the magnitude of our current immigration.

respectfully.

Let's just hope the French aren't trying to take back Louisiana. There are too many Frenchmen and not enough bullets in this country.

"Too many immigrants for our country to reasonably absorb. And the illegal aliens problem is way out of control. Both legal immigration and the presence of illegal aliens need to be severely curtailed. Now."

Or the second option, send the illegals home. Why should law abiding people suffer?

In fact, there are a contingent of legals that would be more than happy to send the illegals back home.

In Canada they're letting in hundreds of thousands of Muslims and in 25 years at the current rates will make up a third to a half of the population.

If these massive waves of Mexican and Central American Amerindians are so great, why aren't their native lands doing more to keep them?

Who here thinks that these millions will fight for America?

A show of hands please?

Anyone?

I didn't mean your resentfulness which I don't think is resentfulness but 'concern'. I meant why do you think American liberals (of all colors) are encouraging this thing.

"Or the second option, send the illegals home."

Now you've gone and done it. Brace yourself. This is where our small band of resident illegal alien supporters, enablers, apologists and enthusiasts appear to inform all of us that the illegal aliens cannot all be sent home because it's racist, too expensive, too difficult, it will kill the American economy or [space to fill in your own "can't do's"]. Stand by, they'll be here soon.

Yeah and illegals give legal immigrants a bad name. Legal immigrants pay LOTS of money to blood sucking immigration lawyers and work their collective asses off doing it the right way.

Happy Hour beckons...

Yup, that country is getting flooded like you wouldn't believe and their population is one-tenth the size of ours.
