Very few ever rocked harder than "Rez" at their best...But Mastedon was good for awhile (John and Dino Elefante), and Magdallan (Lanny Cordola, ex "House of Lords" guitarist, and Ken Tamplin - ex of "Shout") Barren Cross, King's X, and WhiteCross were hot, too. Kerry Livgren (former Kansas guitarist) both solo ("Seeds of Change" album), and with his band "A.D."

It will be interesting to see how his life develops as a (bad PUN alert...) POST KORN FLAKE! BwaHAHAHAHAHA!

sorry I was getting too serious and I couldn't resist!

Glenn Kaiser of REZ does play a mean guitar and he plays some good Blues too. My favorite Christian hard rock band is Bride. Scarecrow Messiah and Snakes in the Playground were rock solid discs.

Yea! Kaiser is da man! And he is a pretty nice guy in person, too. Wendy is also very cool. Their best album ever (IMHO) was "Colours", (and if you remember that one, you know how long I've been listening to Christian Rock - and about how old I am! LOL!) their next best, "Civil Rites".

Ever listen to Lanny Cordola's first solo album, "Electric Warrior, Acoustic Saint"? His guitar work is utterly amazing - from a take on Mozart called "Marriage of Figaro(sort of...)", to a flamenco-styled acoustic burner called "Jalapeno Man" that incorporates some of Aranjuez's "Malaguena", to a crisp acoustic version of "Amazing Grace" - done with a whole lot of "tonics" (aka overtones)...

Nice to know some still recall "Rez"

Yes, especially in America today with persecution of Christians coming from almost all popular culture. However, to accept and serve the Lord basically means that you desire to keep the Ten Commandments which lead to a good, clean and fulfilling life and Christians believe, to an eternal home in Heaven vs. spending eternity in Hell, which is unthinkable. The good that Mr. Korn can do through this decision might be hidden from the public at large but the blessing on his own life if he perseveres will be tremendous. The road he was on probably was going to lead to some kind of personal abyss in middle age.

Hey cool You know them. I would love to meet them someday and tell them how much it means to have good rock to listen too.

Your have been listening for a while I guess your were into the Second Chapter of Acts? When I was real little I remember going over to my older cousin's house and he would be playing them along with Rare Earth and Three Dog Night. I came across REZ by accident and was glad of it. REZ, Bride, and White Cross opened up a whole new music vista for me. I could not believe how good the music was. What amazes me is that some of these groups are so much better than what is offered by main stream music today. It would be nice to see these groups break out.

Thanks for the 411 on Lanny Cordola's album I will have to check that out. You got any more goodies you can turn me on too?

Did Jesus have a crew cut?

Yeah, didn't you know that? He also drank milk and grooved to the Kingston Trio.

These "get a haircut" guys kill me. They are so shallow.

Wow! UnF'n believable! I guess KoRn and God don't mix.

I think that statements like "UnF'n believable" don't mix with the moral values projected on this site. Very uncouth.

Christian Rock Heavy Metal Family Band

I must be getting old. I would never have thought I'd see those words strung together like that. I'm just trying to get past "Heavy Metal Family Band." I'll work on Christian rock later.

He's in for a pleasant surprise.

I was a rock guitar slinger since the late '60's, but for the last eight years or so, have played strictly in evangelical churches' praise and worship teams.

It is then......and ONLY then.......that you come to realize exactly why the Good Lord gave you the musical gifting that you have. I get to use almost every lick I used in rock and blues, but the purpose and the aim of the music is SO different.

I could never, ever go back to playing clubs, bars, dances, whatever. Never. I've experienced way too much playing that Les Paul Custom for God's purposes to ever go back.
