A Question Rampant Hetrosexual Aids
Vanity | February 23, 2005 | LaserLock

Posted on 02/23/2005 6:48:56 PM PST by LaserLock

In the last week and a half I've had to call on different large companies to give technical support. Wherever I've been the television is usually on one channel or another and from what I've of the collage everything is focused on our President's visit to meet the heads of those who are supposed to be our friends in Europe.

More often than not the main complaint is not that Bush is an idiot anymore, but rather that he is an evil man. As I'm there to fix things and program things I generally don't get involve. But on occassion I've asked what's the main thrust amongst the people watching these broadcasts in them calling President Bush an evil man.

I'm always surprised that it's not about Iraq anymore, but rather about giving massive help anywhere and everywhere to people dying of aids. The conclusion is that people who are suffering the most from the aids epidemic are hetrosexual couples or hetrosexual.

This simply doesn't ring true for me and I have no answer. So I'm wondering if my learned friends on the FreeRepublic have any facts regarding this statement.

Why does it matter? AIDS is a terrible problem, bad here but much, much worse in places like Africa. We're an absurdly rich country, why shouldn't we do what we can to help?

If these people are so concerned about AIDS, don't drop your pen on the floor when you're working there.

First off, it's spellet HeterOsexual.

AIDS/HIV mainly affects heterosexuals (and children) in Africa and Asia and places like Haiti.

In the developed nations, basically Western countries, the majority with HIV/AIDS are homosexual and/or IV drug users.

Worldwide, two-thirds of those with HIV/AIDS are in (or from) sub-Saharan Africa ... which means the vast majority of HIV/AIDS infected people are heterosexual (or children).

AIDs in the US seems to be a problem primarily for intravenous drug users and Gays. In Africa, it is moslty a heterosexual disease, often spread by truck drivers and prostitutes. I've been told that this may in part be to the nature of the sex the women must endure, which means it's often done in was that are resulting in tears and bleeding for the women. Gay sex apparently due to design reasons leads to the same problem of tearing and bleeding. I may be wrong on some of this, but that's the way I understand it.

If you want to have a ready answer - try the CDC website - they might have some stats there you could use.

It has nothing to do with patient demographics. Your premise is wrong anyway: the overwhelimg majority of AIDS patients are homosexual or bi.

It's political. A catchphrase. He's a warmonger, he's a Halliburton conspirator, he's destroying the environment, he was AWOL, he's stupid, he's an evil genius, he's alienated our friends, he's a unilateralist, he starves the elderly, poisons women with mercury, he hates blacks...the list is very long.

I don't know why you only hang around with people obsessed with AIDS.

I monitor the propaganda every day and the catchphrases haven't changed over to only AIDS.

In fact, this month it's the environment. Kyoto, dontcha know.

The thing to remember about AIDS is that it's a viral disease. There are no cures for viral diseases, yet. The research on AIDS is paying off in understanding viruses. If a final cure for AIDS is found, it is likely there will be cures for many other diseases as a result.
Also, by understanding how viruses work, in the future it may be possible to manipulate the genes of a virus to cause it to repair human genetic deficiencies.

What makes the HIV virus so dangerous (at least to me) is its ability to mutate and gain resistance to current anti-viral drugs.

About a year and a half ago, I invested in a company (Vaxgen) that was working on an HIV vaccine. They made it all the way to Phase III trials before they found out the vaccine had little effect. The guys and gals at Vaxgen thought that their vaccine would be able to handle mutations in the HIV virus...but it didn't.

Why don't we have bubonic plague any more? People finally accepted the causation and took precautions. They never did find a cure, only a way to prevent it. Same with aids, when the idiots accept the cause it will be preventable, but in the meantime Mother Nature is doing some housecleaning.

Hetrosexual aids is a large problem in Africa, but one of Bush's earliest actions was pledging billions of dollars to help Africa fight Aids. Much more than Clinton ever dreamed about doing. Hetrosexual Aids in this country is just a small fraction.

Just to add my little bit to this discussion. As far as I know, in the early days of the AIDS epidemic in Sub-Saharan Africa it was almost entirely a homosexual disease. Only later did the virus spread to a larger portion of the population and eventually become mostly a heterosexual problem.

AIDS is a human disease and it is unstopable. Medical scientist have been working on the cold virus for over 100 years and we are not any closer to a cure today than when we started.

What we have going for us is that AIDS is not spread through the air. Smart people will never get the disease, unless through a terrible accident beyond their control. Stupid people will continue to get the disease through denial or lack of love of humanity. These same people will spread it to the helpless (like children and rape victims).

There is no place on earth where you can find people that do not know how the disease is spread. But people keep speading it anyway. Its time to re-think the entire approach to the AIDS disease. Throwing money at it is fruitless. It's time to isolate and/or exterminate.

Check out the http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1026551/posts index.

It should have information on the CDC which show that there is not a rampate heterosexual aids. In fact most heterosexual aids cases can be traced back to a homosexual act.

Once again:
People living with AIDS
At the end of 2003, the CDC estimates that 405,926 persons were living with AIDS in the USA.

Of these,

36% were white
42% were black
20% were Hispanic
2% were of other race/ethnicity.
Of the adults and adolescents1 with AIDS, 77% were men. Of these men,

58% were men who had sex with men (MSM)
22% were injection drug users (IDU)
11% were exposed through heterosexual contact
8% were both MSM and IDU.
Of the 88,815 adult and adolescent women with AIDS,

63% were exposed through heterosexual contact
35% were exposed through injection drug use.
An estimated 1,998 children were living with AIDS at the end of 2003.

I haven't heard that. From what I've read it went from primates to humans sometimes around 1950, probably from people eating monkeys, or perhaps some other interaction (that we don't want to think about).

I think it's been a heterosexual disease from the get-go, until it got to the West.
