Geraldo Swoons Over Jacko - (he reports, then he decides...for you! - unfair/unbalanced)
A.I.M.ORG ^ | MARCH 3, 2005 | SHERRIE GOSSETT

Posted on 03/03/2005 9:38:40 AM PST by CHARLITE

Fox News correspondent Geraldo Rivera made a fool out of himself (again) by fawning shamelessly over Michael Jackson in an apparent bid to pay the pop star back for the 'exclusive interview' granted to Fox News and to secure a solid line of future story leads to Fox News. But not everyone was happy at Fox News about this. Bill O'Reilly invited Geraldo on his show and told him to his face that he had gone too far in portraying Jackson as an innocent victim.

The interview, which bore a distinct resemblance to a Jackson family infomercial, aired Saturday February 5 at 10 pm ET on the Fox News Channel's "At Large With Geraldo Rivera."

Geraldo also coddled Billery, at the height of the Lewinsky scandal and impeachment that followed.

Furthermore, Rivera wrote an ethically dubious "tell all" book a while back, where he "outed" all of the celebrities with whom he'd had "affairs" (sometimes one night stands). Seems to me that Geraldo Rivera is obnoxiously ego-centric, to point out only one of his increasingly annoying, less-than-admirable characteristics.

His new wife (is she #5) is nearly about 25 years younger than he is and older than the sons he had with wife #1. Recently, during the same O'Reilly interview mentioned by Sherrie Gossett in her A.I.M. column, Geraldo couldn't resist boasting that wife #5 (Erika), is now pregnant. Such a manly stud he is! That was the message which he couldn't wait to deliver to millions of viewers, although such "news" was stunningly inappropriate to the subject matter of O'Reilly's interview..........which was Michael Jackson's current self-made predicament.

He probably wants to 'be' with whacko.

An interesting paragraph from the article; asks some good questions:

"This was an infotainment figure genuflecting at the altar of celebrity. To see how misplaced Rivera's deference was, just ask yourself a simple question. If instead of Jackson, this was about an unknown middle-aged plumber suspected to have slept with little boys, would Rivera have fawned all over him? Would Rivera have portrayed him as a persecuted saint? Would Rivera be spending time with his friends, taking footage of his hobbies and smiling as though he was having a great time?"

Rupert Murdoch (sp?) is a turd. The only reason FOX is conservative at all is that Rupert realized it would sell well. What he really likes to do is peddle smut. Thus, he hired Whorealdo.

If somebody with some actual character ever got a hold of that network or started up a new network they would dump the whole lot of them but for Brit Hume ... then hire Laura Ingrahm, Anne Coulter, Rush's legal advisor (name escapes me but Rush calls him the Great One.), and maybe Larry Elders. Then they would drop all pretence of effing 'Fair and Balanced' ... go all conservative all the time (like Rush) and I would keep all my TVs tuned to that station all day every day except when the Shield or Deadwood (I know ... I'm sick.) was on.

OH yeah, Mark Levin.

I believe that Geraldo has a law degree, so he apparently has some credentials to stand on in legal issues.

Michael Jackson is definately strange. However, the people accusing him have a history that makes their credibility questionable at best.

Michael Jackson's strangeness and money makes him an obvious target for cons, and the people who are accusing him sure seem to fit the bill.

I don't know if Jackson is a pervert or not, but these particular charges don't look like they're going to hold up.

If he seemed fair on Hannity's show it must be because of all the heat he's been taking about his absolutely fawning approach to Jackson. I saw him last week with Rita Cosby and they were both absolutely disgusting. They reported every rumor and allegation about the family of the accuser they could come up with and DEFENDED Jackson's right to sleep with little boys if he wants to.

I thought Geraldo had plumbed the depths of journalistic prostitution with his Clinton coverage but he's gone way, way beyond that now.

Yea, he's definately screwed up, but the question is did he molest kids, rather than just have no sence of reality and not understand how his comments would be taken.

Is he a perverted nut, or just a nut?

From the information I've read, and the few pieces of court transcripts I've bothered to read, the people accusing him are gold diggers with a history of scamming people in the past.

"I would be concerned about a "man" that announced to anyone that would listen worldwide, that he liked to sleep with little boys. He is his own worse enemy."

I'd be pretty concerned with a parent that not only let her kids spend time alone with a person like that, but actively encouraged them to get close to Jackson and call him daddy.

I don't dispute that Jackson is strange. However, it really looks like the family was looking to extort money out of Jackson or win it in a lawsuit from the start.

"What? You have GOT to be kidding."

Read some information about the accusor and his mother. They aren't exactly cridible witnesses. His mother appears to be a con artist with a history.

There's no real physical evidence of what they're accusing him of doing.

The kid once made false charges against his mother of abuse to the Department of Child Services.

Read up on the case a little bit.

If Jackson did molest boys, I hope they come forward and he gets sent to prison for it.

However, this particular claim doesn't seem credible.

I suspect that Jackson will win the case, and then go back to being shunned by most everyone because he acts like a freak.

So the family may have tried to extort money from him, so therefore he didn't molest this child or any other?

There was an article posted here last night by Charlite from Men's News Daily. It's titled, "Is Michael Jackson a Pedophile?" If I knew how to link, I would....I think you should take a look at the article, it involves a profile of a pedophile.

"So the family may have tried to extort money from him, so therefore he didn't molest this child or any other?"

I'm saying there's no compelling evidence. In this country people are innocent until proven guilty, and the proof is lacking.

Jackson may fit a profile of a pedifile. That doesn't make him a pedifile. Sexually abusing children makes him a pedifile. That's a charge that needs to be proven, and it doesn't look like the proof is there.

If I had kids I sure wouldn't let them go anywhere near Jackson.

I tried to find the article on Men's News Daily, but their archives are listed by author and I didn't see a Charlite, so I assume that's the freeper that posted the article, not the author of the article.

Ok, I found the article and read it.

Yea, Jackson's actions and the accusations made against him appear to meet the profile.

Profiles aren't indicators of a person's actions. They're templates used to narrow down a field of suspects.

It's not proof. It's just conjecture based on his strange actions.

To convict someone, you're supposed to have actual evidence.

I'm not saying he is guilty, that will remain to be seen. However, I do believe, just simply my own opinion, that he is.

I have three boys, and there is no way that I would let Jackson within three states of my children. We had a pedophile that lived across the street from us and he was always outside with a telescope, to attract all the curious little boys( his favorite, by the way). My kids weren't allowed out the front door, without me or my husband. Sad really, this neighborhood is full of boys, and parents letting their kids run around and not knowing where their kids were. His yard was always full of kids and they were even going in his house. Unbelievable.

The article is titled, "Is Michael Jackson a Pediphile?" Just search by title, if you're interested.

By the way, I don't believe that he will be convicted. But I have to wonder how it is that children aren't afraid of him, because he scares that crap out of me. I'd be afraid that his nose would fall off in front me, then I'd be scarred forever.

=0)

Okay, I'll pursue this with you a bit longer. But I'm not going to continue the debate.

The child told the police where Jackson kept his pornographic material -- in 3 different places in his bedroom and lounge. The police looked -- and they found the porno, exactly where the child said it was.

I guess it was a lucky guess. Wrong. Jackson is a child molester. He gives them "Jesus juice" which is alcoholic, and he shows them porno material and he masterbates them.

He will be found guilty. He wasn't able to "buy his way" out of it this time. The law has been changed so that even IF the parents didn't pursue the charge (no matter how much money Jackson gave the parents), the government could still charge him with abuse. That is exactly what has happened.

It is true there are parents who, under these conditions, might try to exhort money from Jackson. It stands to reason that only unscrupulous parents would turn their children over to Jackson, in the first place.

But no matter the character of the parents -- it does not excuse Jackson's behavior, nor protect him from being prosecuted.

If the parents are found to be complicit in the abuse, so be it. I have no problem with the parents being charged, also. Disgusting to think of this child having to endure this treatment, whether or not his parents were involved.

I'm just curious. Are you in the camp which thinks that O.J. was wrongly charged with murder?

Jackson is a middle-aged white woman who happens to have the same uncontrollable proclivities as some of our female school teachers; both secure victims with flaws that help give them some deniability.

Unfortunately, Jackson is a man - one so far gone that he cannot force himself to scrape off the betraying make-up each day - or slightly modify his swishy image, akin to the sad elements that bring up the rear (no pun) of the St. Patrick's day parades.
