Pray for President Bush - Day 1628
Pray for President Bush ^ | 3/3/05 | kayak

Hebrews 12: 1-2

Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Heavenly Father,

We strive to always look unto Jesus but we confess that we let the things of this world distract us. During this season of Lent, help us to strengthen our faith that we may come ever closer to being the persons You would have us to be. Forgive our willfullness and accept us, imperfect as we are, as we offer our humble praise to You, the Almighty God.

We continously thank You for our President, a man who is proud to speak Your Name and to credit You for the accomplishments of his life. Keep him humble and lead him through the difficult tasks that he faces each day. Bestow upon him all those qualities that he needs to carry out his duties -- faith, wisdom, patience, discernment, courage, and peace -- among others. We thank You for our lovely First Lady and ask that You continue to bless their marriage, strenthening it with each passing day. Protect them from all harm, physical or spiritual.

Watch over our military, those brave men and women who serve in distant places carrying out a multitude of tasks in service to others and yet at great personal sacrifice. Be their Defender even as they defend our nation and bring freedom to others.

Lord, as we contemplate much of what is happening in our nation today, we are appalled. The practice of abortion is horrific; depravity is rampant in many quarters; many of our citizens seek only self-gratification; greed and lust for power have become the gods of too many people. We implore You to send Your Holy Spirit across the face of our nation, quickening hearts that are dead to the joys of relationship with You and forgiveness of sin. Revive us, O Lord, that we may once again be that shining city on a hill, inhabited by citizens not only of America but also of Your kingdom here on earth. In the Name of our Savior. Amen.

Romans 8: 26-27 - Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.

AMEN KAYAK AND AMEN ALL!
GRACE AND INFINITE BLESSINGS TO ALL BRETHREN!

"My grace is sufficient for thee."
- 2 Corinthians 12:9

If none of God's saints were poor and tried, we should not know half so
well the consolations of divine grace. When we find the wanderer who has
not where to lay his head, who yet can say, "Still will I trust in the
Lord;" when we see the pauper starving on bread and water, who still
glories in Jesus; when we see the bereaved widow overwhelmed in
affliction, and yet having faith in Christ, oh! what honour it reflects on
the gospel. God's grace is illustrated and magnified in the poverty and
trials of believers. Saints bear up under every discouragement, believing
that all things work together for their good, and that out of apparent
evils a real blessing shall ultimately spring-that their God will either
work a deliverance for them speedily, or most assuredly support them in
the trouble, as long as he is pleased to keep them in it. This patience of
the saints proves the power of divine grace.
There is a lighthouse out at sea: it is a calm night-I cannot tell
whether the edifice is firm; the tempest must rage about it, and then I
shall know whether it will stand.
So with the Spirit's work: if it were not on many occasions surrounded
with tempestuous waters, we should not know that it was true and strong;
if the winds did not blow upon it, we should not know how firm and secure
it was.
The master-works of God are those men who stand in the midst of
difficulties, stedfast, unmoveable,-

"Calm mid the bewildering cry,
Confident of victory."

He who would glorify his God must set his account upon meeting with many
trials. No man can be illustrious before the Lord unless his conflicts be
many. If then, yours be a much-tried path, rejoice in it, because you will
the better show forth the all-sufficient grace of God.
As for his failing you, never dream of it-hate the thought.
The God who has been sufficient until now, should be trusted to the end.

C.H.SPURGEON

SOLI DEO GLORIA!

Thank You, Lord, our King, for the protection of our First Family and administration. Angels, we charge you to watch over them and defend and preserve them in all their ways. We confess that no weapon formed against them will prosper and that their lives are redeemed from all forms of destruction. Grant them traveling mercies and time to study to show themselves approved unto You. Hide them in the shelter of Your wings and secrete them in the secret place of the Most High.

We pray for supernatural wisdom for our military leaders. May they see the enemy where he is hiding. Give them strength and comfort and do not let discouragement enter their hearts.

We bless You for the answer to these prayers in the name of Jesus, our Champion and Lord. Amen.
