FREEP - Fayetteville NC, 3/19 "SUPPORT OUR TROOPS" (and counterprotest the 5th Column Marxists)
Old North State Chapter ^ | 3/4/05 | Old North State Chapter of Free Republic

Edited on 03/05/2005 8:14:51 AM PST by Lead Moderator. [history]

Once again, busloads of leftist activists will descend upon Fayetteville, NC in an attempt to demoralize the will of our American troops by targetting their loved ones with antiwar drivel.

The choice of Fayetteville, NC, as a focal point of their propaganda campaign, is due to the fact that it is the home of Ft. Bragg (and the 82nd Airborne) as well as the Pope Airforce Base. The leftists will march with socialist banners and bring out an array of speakers decrying the war and advocating every variety of left-wing topic from Marxism and socialism to special "rights" for homosexuals to secularism to pro-Hezbollah Palestinianism. (Seriously - last year they all were really there!)

The unifying factor of all of these groups is anti-Americanism utilizing continued propaganda themes of "Bush lied" and "No blood for oil". The mob will also import a number of speakers who have allegedly lost loved ones in Iraq, and will create some sort of symbolic display reflecting the number of dead. (They have used pairs of boots and black umbrellas in the past.) They will (undoubtedly through an unintentional oversight) neglect to display any symbolism reflecting the number of Americans killed in the WTC, or Iraqis killed by Saddam or Women beaten by the Taliban, or the number of Afghanis and Iraquis and Palestinians and Ukrainians and (soon) Egyptians who now have the ability to vote.

Last year, FReepers countered the leftwing protests with the added participation of Rolling Thunder, Protest Warriors, Vets and other patriotic Americans. This year, we'll do it again! We had lots of press coverage, and totally deflated the left's bubble. Families of our troops loved the fact that we were there!

Please join FReepers from Tennessee, Pennsylvania, Virginia, South Carolina, North Carolina and DC in Fayetteville this year as once again we provide aid and comfort to American troops!

Suprise is a great weapon

LOL !!

How true, bert.

Freepers just keep on flying in under the radar, and absolutely wiping out the enemy - with truth, biting wit, and the biggest, most finely tuned lungs paired with vocal cords of titanium.

P.S. D'ya think I could one day be a White House Correspondent?

Count Me In. I live about 20 miles N of Ft Bragg and am very familiar with Fayetteville.

Has anyone contacted Rolling Thunder yet? I see their #1 NC chapter is based in Fayetteville.

We can get some white foam hands from here and paint the index fingers purple. If y'all are interested then I'm in for $50.00.I hope someone else can place the order though, I'm leaving for TN and KY Tuesday and probably won't be home until 3/14. Somebody freepmail me if I need to place the order or you need to get my $$ as I'm sure time is getting tight.

Anyhow, I'm looking forward to meeting fellow Freepers and supporting our overseas operations in the war on terror. Where are we parking?

Those foam victory hands with a purple finger would really, really piss 'em off.

Looks like we'd need $250. I'm in for $50!

Do we know where we can park, though?

An important question for those of us driving a bus! Where do we park, and how far is it from there to our FReep site, and where's the nearest bathroom?

Parking is easy and there are many choices. We'll protect your cars by not giving out those details too soon.

Okay, thanks. We're thinking of going down on Friday, after we ship Bill off to Atlanta with the Boy Scouts. Can you FReepmail me the location where you're staying?

I think those prices are for hands with printing on them... blank white hands may be cheaper. We'd just have to paint the index finger ourselves. I wish I had time to focus on the order, but I'll be on the road for the next few days. If someone can order them I can at least call the company with my CC# from the road if they will accept partial payments from multiple customers for one order.

Rolling Thunder has been taken care of. We will have to just see how many of them can make it our way. They have a fundraiser going on out on Ft. Bragg that same day.

Anyone who wants one of those foam mitts with the index finger, check your local craft stores. I found a white one at Michaels this weekend. I am to check back in a few days and see if they have gotten any more in. I had already checked out the spirit industries site and decided I couldn't afford it.

The flyers say "Rowan Park" is the site of our rally. If someone who doesn't know better goes looking for us IN the park, they aren't going to find us there.

I am sure it will be great! I just don't know if I can drive that far- since I have a pretty bad ear infection and ruptured eardrum. It causes me to be dizzy ( Yes, more than usual!) and unbalanced sometimes. The Doc said I SHOULD be all over it by then! I hope so. Here is to a good turn out!

I don't know better. Can you give a street address or intersection crossroads for the rally location? Once I have this information, I can do a Mapquest search to find the out where the rally will be.

Most of Ft Bragg is closed now...is the fundraiser in an area civilians can visit to support RT?

Hey uhhh....maybe I need some freepmail too.

Thanks for this valuable advice. If I find some I will pick up extras.

Civilians can visit Ft. Bragg but be prepared to have your registration and proof of insurance with you. Sometimes I'm told, you might be asked for that information. Also, everyone in the car needs to have a picture ID. I don't think you have to have them for small children. You will be asked to open your trunk and probably the hood of your car so that they can be looked into. I don't think it takes long. I'll have to look and see where the fund raiser is going to be out there.

I think that's all that you would need to get on post. I'm not used to going through that as I have a sticker for my car and a dependent military ID.

If anyone knows otherwise about entry to Ft. Bragg for civilians, please post it.
