What with the big smoke eaters the business's installed today, you really have to look to see if anyone is smoking, they are that good.

Perhaps your sense of smell is dead. Any non-smoker has no problem telling when there are smokers in a restaurant smelling the place up regardless of the so-called "smoke eaters."

But I do not believe that the government and the nanny anti's should have been allowed to go in and possess a private business and force a smoking ban on them… I can't believe you are all for government control when you are a FReeper. I just can't believe it.

Having a smoking section in a restaurant is like having a corner of the pool to pee in. Why do you think it is your right to inflict your smelly, nauseous habit on others? No one “has to smoke,” but everyone has to breathe.

If you want to use tobacco products that do not necessarily affect the environment of anyone else such as “chewing” or “dipping,” you’re welcome to it without my objection. Of course, I do not want to have to pay for your medical care when you develop oral cancer or heart disease.

Not being able to breathe will do funny things to you

Well, I don't consider it an addiction. I smoke because I enjoy it. I am not fat and I can't drink anymore. I have to have ONE bad habit! heh!

Sounds just like I used to. If you ever quit smoking you will realize how silly you sound when you say things like that.

None of us in FR have lost our sense of smell from smoking. I bet it wouldn't stop you from going to Las Vegas in the big Casino's though. Would it? You wouldn't complain one twit about people smoking and drinking.

BTW, we wondered where you were.  We have been waiting for you to come in. heh!

That metaphor is so damn old.  And don't forget “Public Health Malpractice!” Antismokers say a smoking section in a restaurant is like a pissing section in a swimming pool. They ignore the fact that a pool changes its water once a year while the restaurant changes the air constantly.  Why don't you grow up.

Without YOUR OBJECTION?  Who made it YOUR business, BTW.  Smokers pay more then their fair share through taxes.

You know what you can do with yourself, right?

Why do you think it is your right to inflict your selfish views on the owner of a private business? No one has the right to enter another's business without the permission of the owner. If the owner chooses to permit smoking who are you to tell him he can't? You don't own the property, he does.

I'm not going to quit smoking.  I enjoy it.  Sounds like you are a little bitter that I can smoke and you do not.

I'm enjoying a legal product.  Who are you to try to tell ME how to live?  You sound just like the other anti's we get in here.

and if you ever own a business and have ridiculous rules added on top of the already onerous ones in place you will understand how utterly selfish and silly you sound.

Maybe, just maybe, the other "anti's" you have in here will be around a lots longer than you. I'm trying to turn my health around. I'm definately not bitter. I did not quit smoking because of the health problems. I had made a pact with myself years ago that I would quit when I turned 40. I did. Later, the damage was discovered.

Well, I'm sorry for your problems.  But cigarettes are still legal and 55 million of us still enjoy them.

Are you God?

Aren't you though?  However, you said everyone was going to live longer then me.  I ask "Are you God?"

Anyway, this isn't the theme of this thread.  This is about the loss of revenue and business's and jobs because of the forced smoking bans by the anti's.

Have a good night.

"And Mayor BloomingIdiot said the smoking ban has INCREASED business."

RINO's lie. I stood outside Macy's Christmas eve day ('03)with one of their employees's. We lit up, held them in the air, and yelled "here's to the nazi mayor." The SA bell ringer almost fell over laughing.

Yes, I can enjoy eating in a restaurant without having to endure the noxious smell of cigarettes.

Gee, your "emotions" of contemplation have triggered me to respond to your absurd reply my friend.

I smoked for 15 years, quit for 18 years, had an aortic dissection, died, only to find that when my surgeon brought me back to life, (lucky 5%er I am) he impressed me with his amazement, first for my surviving, and secondly for my perfect health including my heart which he related to me as a scarless heart of an eighteen year old which is rare for a 42 year old which I was at the time.

I take words seriously now and your words are a frivolous attempt at conveying a mindset of government knows all mentality. Oh, by the way I am a comfortable post open heart surgery smoker with a a true conviction for personal rights.

Why do you think it is your right to inflict your selfish views on the owner of a private business?

A private business that opens its doors to the public is bound by the laws that are deemed reasonable by the representatives of the people for the public use of that business. For example, consider fire safety laws, occupancy limits, sale/use of illicit substances, etc. Prohibiting smoking is no different than any of those other restrictions on a "private" business. As to my "selfish views," it is those who wish to smoke that are exhibiting selfishness. As I observed before, everyone has to breathe, but no one has to smoke.

Perhaps bringing shades along with you would be prudent just in case the sunshine through the windows blasts all enjoyment away from your pleasure too.

Me thinks both are compatible lest only smokers are surviving today.
